Sevdiye Nilgün Acar
Sevdiye Nilgün Acar (born 1958) is a Turkish miniature artist. She was born in 1958 and graduated from Şişli High School. She was educated in the art of miniature by her teachers Neşe Aybey and Nilgün Gencer. Later she became a teacher at the Miniature Club at Kültür High School and taught there for some time. Neşe Aybey
Neşe Aybey (1930–2015), also written Neş'e Aybey, was a Turkish Painter, Miniaturist and Academic in the field of miniature art, one of the ''Traditional Turkish Arts'' and part of the Ottoman Book Arts. She was the older sister of sculptor Gürdal Duyar. Neşe Aybey was born as Neşe Duyar on 2 March 1930 as the second child of Fikri Duyar and Nezahat Duyar (Erişkin). She was the older sister of sculptor Gürdal Duyar (1935–2004) and younger sister of Erdal Duyar (1927–1975). She was married to Hasan Rauf Aybey (1921–2005), the internist- Medical Doctor and poet. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul, where she was a student of Hüseyin Tahirzade Behzat in the 1940s, majoring dually in miniature and tezhip. Contemporary Turkish Miniature
Contemporary Turkish Miniature refers to Turkish miniature art in Turkey from the mid-20th century to the present day. Contemporary Turkish miniature art is exactly the same art form as 16th-century Ottoman miniature; however, it is no longer just a book art and had developed into a fully standalone form of art with miniature artists depicting anything in any size they want while still using the same techniques as 16th-century miniature artists. Changes from Ottoman miniature Contemporary Turkish miniature is the same art form as Ottoman miniature however the circumstances in which it was created differ. Miniature (illuminated Manuscript)
A miniature (from the Latin verb ''miniare'', "to colour with ''minium''", a red lead) is a small illustration used to decorate an ancient or medieval illuminated manuscript; the simple illustrations of the early codices having been miniated or delineated with that pigment. The generally small scale of such medieval pictures has led to etymological confusion with minuteness and to its application to small paintings, especially portrait miniatures, which did however grow from the same tradition and at least initially used similar techniques. Gouache
Gouache (; ), body color, or opaque watercolor is a water-medium paint consisting of natural pigment, water, a binding agent (usually gum arabic or dextrin), and sometimes additional inert material. Gold leaf is gold that has been hammered into thin sheets (usually around 0.1 µm thick) by goldbeating and is often used for gilding. Gold leaf is available in a wide variety of karats and shades.
