Seth Elledge
Seth Wayne Elledge (born May 20, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the fourth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft and made his MLB debut for the Cardinals in 2020. Amateur career Elledge attended Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas. As a senior, he compiled a 2.92 ERA. Undrafted out of high school in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, he enrolled at Dallas Baptist University where he played college baseball. In 2016, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. Springfield Cardinals
The Springfield Cardinals are a Minor League Baseball team based in Springfield, Missouri. They compete as a member of the Texas League's North Division. The Cardinals began play in 2005. Samuel Johnathan Tuivailala (born October 19, 1992) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He previosuly played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals and Seattle Mariners. Career Tuivailala attended Aragon High School in San Mateo, California. He was a pitcher and infielder for the baseball team along with being a quarterback on the football team, as well as playing basketball. Modesto Nuts
The Modesto Nuts are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. They are located in Modesto, California, and are named for the several types of nuts grown in the region. They play their home games at John Thurman Field, which opened in 1955. The Nuts adopted their current name in 2005 after the team's affiliation with the Oakland Athletics ended. Before then, the team was known as the Modesto Athletics (or A's) from 1975 to 2004. The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. The Clinton LumberKings are a collegiate summer baseball team of the Prospect League. They are located in Clinton, Iowa, and play their home games at NelsonCorp Field. Class A Short Season
Class A Short Season (officially Short-Season A) was a level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States from 1965 through 2020. In the hierarchy of minor league classifications, it was below Triple-A, Double-A, Class A-Advanced (created in 1990), and Class A. Teams in Class A Short Season played about 75 to 80 games per season, compared to the 130- to 140-game seasons of most professional baseball minor leagues.
