Servreagh O'Folan
Servreagh O'Folan, Irish Brehon, fl. 1585. O'Folan was a member of a Brehon family resident in Conmhaícne Mara in the 16th century. They served as lawyers to members of the Ó Flaithbheartaigh's and other families in the region, but were also a land-owning and merchant family connected with The Tribes of Galway. Servreagh O'Folan is listed as a ''Gentleman'' on a number of fiant in the 1580s. The '' Composition Book of Connacht'' of 1585 listed him as a landowner in Moyrus in the Barony of Ballynahinch, County Galway. Murrough na dTuadh Ó Flaithbheartaigh, the Chieftain of the O'Flaherty Clan came to Galway City and signed an Official Fiant in 1585 with ''"the Chief men of his countrie"''. Thomas Folan
Thomas D Folan (1810–1874) was an Irish local leader who served as King of the Claddagh. Biography Folan was a Dominican priest, and a native of Galway City. He was the Prior of St Mary's Dominican Priory, Galway City. He was previously Prior of San Clemente, Rome, and succeeded Joseph Mullooly as Prior in November 1857. He was born in Rahoon, Galway in 1810 and was the son of James Folan and Honoria Costello. He studied at Perugia (1827–9) where he received minor orders, at Lucca (1829–31) where he was made subdeacon, and at San Clemente (1831–3), receiving diaconate and priesthood at the Lateran (1832), and at the Minerva (1833–4) where he graduated S.T.L. before returning to Ireland in Oct. 1834. Barna
Barna (Bearna in Irish) is a coastal village on the R336 regional road in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. It has become a satellite village of Galway city.
