Seripop
Seripop refers to the art duo Chloe Lum and Yannick Desranleau, who have collaborated on album covers, prints, book illustrations, and installations. The name Seripop is short for ''Serigraphie Populaire'', French for "Popular Screenprinting". Seripop is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Biographies Lum and Desranleau met in the underground noise music scene of Montreal, eventually forming their first band Electric End. They began making their hand-printed posters as a way to attract people to their shows, but then eventually dropped out of art school in the early 2000s to make tour posters for six bands' entire tours, resulting in 25 to 45 posters for each band. Both are graduates of Montreal's Concordia University. AIDS Wolf
__NOTOC__ AIDS Wolf was a Canadian noise rock band, founded in Montreal in 2003, by the graphic arts team of Chloe Lum (aka Special Deluxe) and Yannick Desranleau (aka Hiroshima Thunder), otherwise known as Seripop. They were joined by Myles Broscoe (late of Arcade Fire), Chris Taylor (aka Barbarian Destroyer), Nick Kuepfer, André Guérette (aka Him, the Maji), and Alex Moskos. The band was known for playing modified consumer electronics and analog synthesizers, for giving creative names to instruments, and for being “weird for the sake of being weird.” On their label's band page, they stated "We are a fucking cult and will cause you harm and ill will," then added "The 9 Principles of AIDS Wolf". Name According to Chloe Lum, the name "AIDS Wolf" came from an urban legend wherein wolves carry AIDS and pass it to house pets who then pass it on to people, although she did not offer evidence of this legend. The Juno Award for "Recording Package of the Year" has been awarded since 1975, as recognition each year for the best album art for a music recording in Canada. The Award was subtitled as "Presented in honour of Andrew MacNaughtan" after MacNaughtan's death in early 2012. The Looks
''The Looks'' is the debut album by Mstrkrft, released on 18 July 2006. All songs were written by Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P. History In the 15–21 June 2006 edition of '' The Stranger'', Keeler explains the origin of the album's title: "My girlfriend and I were watching ''American Idol'', and judge Randy critiqued this one girl as having 'the looks' but not the talent. So we laughed at this intangible thing 'the looks' that can be good or bad, and later it became uralbum title. Because if you think about it, it doesn't mean anything, especially in terms of our album." The earliest version of the track "Paris" was composed on a laptop, on a plane taking Keeler and Al-P back home after a trip in Paris.
