Boryspil ( uk, Бориспіль, translit. ''Boryspil'') is a city and the administrative center of Boryspil Raion in Kyiv Oblast (region) in northern (central) Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Boryspil urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population was estimated as Name Official sources state that the city derives its name from Prince Boris, of Boris and Gleb, two sons of Vladimir the Great, who were both murdered during the internecine wars of 1015–1019. According to Petro Tronko in his History of cities and villages in Ukrainian SSR, the locality where Boryspil is located was named as "Borysove pole" (Borys's field) when in 1015 a son of Vladimir the Great Borys returning from another raid against Pechenegs died from hands of hired assassins. Kyiv Oblast ( uk, Ки́ївська о́бласть, translit=Kyïvska oblast), also called Kyivshchyna ( uk, Ки́ївщина), is an oblast (province) in central and northern Ukraine. It surrounds, but does not include, the city of Kyiv, which is a self-governing city with special status. 2022–23 Ukrainian Second League
The 2022–23 Ukrainian Second League was the 32nd since its establishment. Summary Due to Russo-Ukrainian War, the Professional Football League of Ukraine (PFL) lost some 24 clubs. Out of 31 teams of the last season, only 4 remained for this season. The Second League was replenished with some teams from national amateur competitions as well as some clubs added their reserve teams. Unlike the last season, this season consisted of a single group of 10 with a standard double round-robin tournament. The top team would receive a direct promotion, while the runner-up contest promotion with the second to the last from the First League. With occupation of Kherson Oblast, the Russian occupational administration announced to create own club (Fregat) in place of FC Krystal Kherson. However, after the 2022 Kherson counteroffensive, the story did not get any continuation. Ukrainian Amateur Cup
The Ukrainian Amateur Cup ( uk, Кубок України з футболу серед аматорських команд) or AAFU Cup ( uk, Кубок ААФУ) is a national cup competition in Ukraine for amateur clubs. The nationwide competition among amateur teams in cup format (Olympic system) was revived in the 1996–97 season and since 2008 the winner receives the right to progress to the Ukrainian Cup which serves professional clubs. Format The Cup is intended to be organised between the Cup holders of the regional tournaments, but in reality it is an optional invitational tournament among teams that are delegated by selected regions ( oblasts of Ukraine and autonomous republic of Crimea). The 2001–02 Ukrainian Second League was the 11th season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competitions were divided into three groups according to geographical location in the country – A is western Ukraine, B is southern Ukraine and Crimea, and C is eastern Ukraine. The Persha Liha ( uk, Перша ліга) or Ukrainian First League is a professional football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions pyramid. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. It is the highest division of Professional Football League. History The league was set up by the newly reorganized Football Federation of Ukraine (a successor of the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR) with the falling apart Soviet Union as a second tier, lower than Ukrainian Higher League (Vyshcha Liha) and higher that Ukrainian Transitional League (Perekhidna Liha).
