Sergiy Chernyavsky
Serhii Volodymyrovych Cherniavskyi, or Serhiy Volodymyrovych Chernyavsʼkyy ( uk, Сергій Володимирович Чернявський; born 2 April 1976) is a retired Ukrainian cyclist. He won a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics and a world title in 2001 in the 4000 m team pursuit. After retiring from competitions, he taught cycling while working on his PhD at the Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University The Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University is a university located in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. The 2000 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXVII Olympiad and also known as Sydney 2000 (Dharug: ''Gadigal 2000''), the Millennium Olympic Games or the Games of the New Millennium, was an international multi-sport event held from 15 September to 1 October 2000 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It marked the second time the Summer Olympics were held in Australia, and in the Southern Hemisphere, the first being in Melbourne, in 1956.
