Sergio González Rodríguez (26 January 1950 – 3 April 2017) was a Mexican journalist and writer who was best known for his works on the Female homicides in Ciudad Juárez, femicides in Ciudad Juárez from the 1990s to the 2000s, such as ''Huesos en el desierto'' (''Bones in the Desert'') and ''The Femicide Machine''. ''Lettre International'' is the title of a number of cultural magazines published in various languages in Europe. The history of ''Lettre International'' dates back to 1984, the year that the original French edition (''Lettre Internationale'') first came out. Publication of the French magazine ceased in 1993. Corruption in Mexico has permeated several segments of societypolitical, economic, and socialand has greatly affected the country's legitimacy, transparency, accountability, and effectiveness. Many of these dimensions have evolved as a product of Mexico's legacy of elite, oligarchic consolidation of power and authoritarian rule. Transparency International's 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index scored Mexico at 26 on a scale from 0 ("highly corrupt") to 100 ("very clean"), its lowest score ever. When ranked by score, Mexico ranked 140th among the 180 countries in the Index, where the country ranked first is perceived to have the most honest public sector. Crime In Mexico
Crime is one of the most urgent concerns facing Mexico, as Mexican drug trafficking rings play a major role in the flow of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin, and marijuana transiting between Latin America and the United States. Drug trafficking has led to corruption, which has had a deleterious effect on Mexico's Federal Representative Republic. Drug trafficking and organized crime have been a major source of violent crime. Drug cartels and gangs have also branched out to conduct alternative illegal activities for profit, including sex trafficking in Mexico. Some of the most increasingly violent states in Mexico in 2020 included Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Michoacán, Jalisco, and Querétaro. Salvador Novo
Salvador Novo López (July 30, 1904 – January 13, 1974) was a Mexican writer, poet, playwright, translator, television presenter, entrepreneur, and the official chronicler of Mexico City. As a noted intellectual, he influenced popular perceptions of politics, media, the arts, and Mexican society in general. He was a member of the Mexican modernist writers' group ''Los Contemporáneos'', as well as of the Academia Mexicana de la Lengua.
