Sergey Dogadin
Sergei Dogadin (born September 1988) is a Russian violinist. Born in a musical family, Dogadin began studying the violin at the age of six. He made his major debut in 2002 with Vasily Petrenko and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and went on to perform with such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vladimir Spivakov and Manfred Honeck and share the stage with such artists as Elisabeth Leonskaja, David Geringas, Denis Matsuev, Nikolay Sivchuk and Daniil Trifonov. Dogadin has won accolades in ten international competitions, including second prize (with no first prize awarded) at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in 2011, first prize at the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover in 2015, the second prize at the first Shanghai Isaac Stern Violin Competition in 2016, and the first prize at the Singapore International Violin Competition in 2018. Vasily Petrenko
Vasily Eduardovich Petrenko (russian: Васи́лий Эдуа́рдович Петре́нко; born 7 July 1976) is a Russian-British conductor. He is currently chief conductor of the European Union Youth Orchestra, music director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and principal conductor of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation. Biography Petrenko was born in Leningrad, USSR. He attended the Capella Boys Music School and the St Petersburg Conservatoire. Petrenko studied conducting principally under Ravil Martynov, also learning from Mariss Jansons, Yuri Temirkanov, Esa-Pekka Salonen, George Benjamin and Roberto Carnevale. Daniil Olegovich Trifonov (russian: Дании́л Оле́гович Три́фонов; born 5 March 1991) is a Russian pianist and composer. Described by ''The Globe and Mail'' as "arguably today's leading classical virtuoso" and by ''The Times'' as "without question the most astounding pianist of our age", Trifonov's honors include a Grammy Award win in 2018 and the Gramophone Classical Music Awards' Artist of the Year Award in 2016. Boris Kuschnir
Boris Kuschnir (born 1948) is a Ukrainian-born Austrian violinist and academic. Background and early life Born in Kyiv in 1948, he studied violin with at the Moscow Conservatoire and chamber music with Valentin Berlinsky of the Borodin Quartet. Career In 1982 he became an Austrian citizen. He is a professor at the Konservatorium Wien University since 1984 and also a distinguished Professor at the University of Music in Graz since 1999. Playing in various chamber music ensembles, he co-founded the Wiener Schubert Trio in 1984, the Vienna Brahms Trio in 1993 and the Kopelman Quartet in 2002. Tchaikovsky International Competition
The International Tchaikovsky Competition is a classical music competition held every four years in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia, for pianists, violinists, and cellists between 16 and 32 years of age and singers between 19 and 32 years of age. The competition is named after Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It was a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions until April 2022, when it was excluded due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The International Tchaikovsky Competition was the first international music competition held in the Soviet Union. Nikolay Sivchuk (russian: Николай Сивчук; born July 23, 1981, in Surgut) is a Russian bayanist/accordionist. He works as a soloist, chamber musician, arranger, teacher and composer. Biography In 1995 Nikolay Sivchuk got a scholarship at the "New Names" Charitable Public Foundation, the project which is supporting the young talents and providing them with the masterclasses by famous Russian musicians. There he met the professor Viacheslav Semionov, whose class at Gnessins' Russian Academy of Music in Moscow he attended in 2000. Denis Leonidovich Matsuev ( rus, Дени́с Леони́дович Мацу́ев /ma'tsujef/; born June 11, 1975) is a Russian classical pianist and occasional jazz performer. Biography Born in Irkutsk, Soviet Union, Matsuev is the only child of two musicians, as his mother is a piano teacher and his father is a pianist and composer. He demonstrated a musical ear at age 3, when he reproduced on the piano at home a melody that he heard on television. His father subsequently became his first piano teacher. Until age 15, Matsuev studied music in Irkutsk. In 1990, he won a prize at the "New Names Charitable Foundation" competition in Irkutsk and received a stipend, $1,000 a month, from the foundation to study music in Moscow. David Geringas ( lt, Dovydas Geringas; born 29 July 1946 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian cellist and conductor who studied under Mstislav Rostropovich. In 1970 he won the gold medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. He also plays the baryton, a rare instrument associated with music of Joseph Haydn.
