''Serenity in Fire'' is the seventh studio album from Canadian death metal band Kataklysm. The spoken passage in the track ''The Ambassador of Pain'' is a quote from Paul Newman's character in the film, Road to Perdition. Peter Tägtgren contributed guest vocals on the album. The song "As I Slither" was featured on the soundtrack for the film '' Alone in the Dark'' (2005) via Nuclear Blast, considered to be one of the worst movies ever created, featuring the actress Tara Reid. The song "The Night They Returned" was originally composed for the feature film (also titled 'The Night They Returned') by independent filmmaker Sv Bell. Ultimately Nuclear Blast did not authorize the use of the track for the film. Members of the band make a brief cameo in the movie, released in 2004. Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. They have released fourteen studio albums, one EP and two DVDs as of 2020. Kataklysm won their first Juno Award (Canadian equivalent of the Grammy) for best album of the year in the "heavy metal" category for their 2015 album '' Of Ghosts & Gods''. The band's albums have charted throughout the world, including the Billboard Top 100 in the United States. Paul Leonard Newman (January 26, 1925 – September 26, 2008) was an American actor, film director, race car driver, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Hypocrisy is a Swedish death metal band formed in October 1991 in Ludvika by Peter Tägtgren. History After spending three years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1990, founder Peter Tägtgren returned to his homeland of Sweden, to form his own band. Hypocrisy's early releases were noted as being well-executed death metal, but panned for not being particularly innovative. That criticism waned as the band matured, cultivating a more distinctive sound as well as employing an introspective lyrical approach. Later releases have a more atmospheric sound, with lyrical exploration of aliens and abduction experiences. Peter Tägtgren
Alf Peter Tägtgren (born 3 June 1970) is a Swedish musician, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is the founder, main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist of death metal band Hypocrisy as well as the industrial metal band Pain in which he is the only member. He is also the owner of ''The Abyss'' recording studio and the co-founder of Lindemann, a music project between Tägtgren and Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann. Tägtgren left Lindemann in 2020.
