September 2025 Lunar Eclipse
A total lunar eclipse will take place between Sunday, September 7 and Monday, September 8, 2025. The Moon will barely miss the center of the Earth's shadow. It will be the second of two total lunar eclipses. Occurring roughly 3 days before perigee, the Moon will appear larger than usual. This eclipse is the second of an ''almost tetrad'', with others being 14 Mar 2025 (T), 03 Mar 2026 (T) and 28 Aug 2026 (P). Visibility It will be completely visible over much of Asia, Australia and eastern Africa, will be seen rising over the rest of Africa and Europe, and setting over eastern Asia and New Zealand. Solar Eclipse Of March 29, 2025
A partial solar eclipse will occur on Saturday, March 29, 2025. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is a nearly perfect ball of hot plasma, heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion reactions in its core. The Sun radiates this energy mainly as light, ultraviolet, and infrared radi ..., thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. A partial solar eclipse occurs in the polar regions of the Earth when the center of the Moon's shadow misses the Earth. 21st-century Lunar Eclipses
The 1st century was the century spanning AD 1 ( I) through AD 100 ( C) according to the Julian calendar. It is often written as the or to distinguish it from the 1st century BC (or BCE) which preceded it. The 1st century is considered part of the Classical era, epoch, or historical period. The 1st century also saw the appearance of Christianity. During this period, Europe, North Africa and the Near East fell under increasing domination by the Roman Empire, which continued expanding, most notably conquering Britain under the emperor Claudius (AD 43). The reforms introduced by Augustus during his long reign stabilized the empire after the turmoil of the previous century's civil wars. Later in the century the Julio-Claudian dynasty, which had been founded by Augustus, came to an end with the suicide of Nero in AD 68. There followed the famous Year of Four Emperors, a brief period of civil war and instability, which was finally brought to an end by Vespasian, ninth Roman emperor, a ... Solar Eclipse Of September 12, 2034
An annular solar eclipse will occur on Tuesday, September 12, 2034. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun's, blocking most of the Sun's light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring). An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region of the Earth thousands of kilometres wide. The eclipse will commence over the southern Pacific Ocean, and enter South America. Countries under the path include northern Chile, southern Bolivia, northern Argentina, southern Paraguay, and southern Brazil. The eclipse will then enter the Atlantic Ocean, and terminate approximately southeast of South America. Saros (astronomy)
The saros () is a period of exactly 223 synodic months, approximately 6585.3211 days, or 18 years, 10, 11, or 12 days (depending on the number of leap years), and 8 hours, that can be used to predict eclipses of the Sun and Moon. One saros period after an eclipse, the Sun, Earth, and Moon return to approximately the same relative geometry, a near straight line, and a nearly identical eclipse will occur, in what is referred to as an eclipse cycle. A sar is one half of a saros. A series of eclipses that are separated by one saros is called a ''saros series''. It corresponds to: *6,585.321347 solar days *18.029 years *223 synodic months *241.999 draconic months *18.999 eclipse years (38 eclipse seasons) *238.992 anomalistic months The 19 eclipse years means that if there is a solar eclipse (or lunar eclipse), then after one saros a new moon will take place at the same node of the orbit of the Moon, and under these circumstances another eclipse can occur. Metonic Cycle
The Metonic cycle or enneadecaeteris (from grc, ἐννεακαιδεκαετηρίς, from ἐννεακαίδεκα, "nineteen") is a period of almost exactly 19 years after which the lunar phases recur at the same time of the year. The recurrence is not perfect, and by precise observation the Metonic cycle defined as 235 lunar month, synodic months is just 2 hours, 4 minutes and 58 seconds longer than 19 tropical year, tropical years. Meton of Athens, in the 5th century BC, judged the cycle to be a whole number of days, 6,940. Using these whole numbers facilitates the construction of a lunisolar calendar. A tropical year is longer than 12 lunar months and shorter than 13 of them. The arithmetic identity 12×12 + 7×13 = 235 shows that a combination of 12 "short" years (12 months) and 7 "long" years (13 months) will be almost exactly equal to 19 solar years. Application in traditional calendars In the Babylonian calendar, Babylonian and Hebrew calendar, ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Solar Saros 135
Saros cycle series 135 for solar eclipses occurs at the Moon's ascending node, repeating every 18 years, 11 days. Solar Saros 135 contains 71 events in which of 18 will be partial eclipses and 53 will be umbral eclipses (45 annular, 2 hybrid, 6 total). All eclipses in this series occurs at the Moon's ascending node. This solar saros is linked to Lunar Saros 128. On Monday, December 24, 1601, was the smallest annular solar eclipse in the 2nd millennium, with an eclipse magnitude of only 0.90785, just 0.002% larger than the solar eclipse of November 12, 1683 BC, was the smallest annular solar eclipse of thousands of years, with an eclipse magnitude of only 0.90783. The solar eclipse of January 15, 1638, was an annular solar eclipse of Solar Saros 135 that occurred only 43 minutes before apogee. The longest annular solar eclipse on the 2nd millennium was on December 14, 1955 (Saros 141), with a duration of 12 minutes, 9.17 seconds, while the smallest annular solar eclipse on ...
