Seok Cheoljoo
Seok Cheoljoo or Suk Chul-Joo (born August 21, 1950) is a South Korean painter and professor. He studied oriental painting in Chugye University for the Arts and art education in the graduate school of Dongguk University Dongguk University (Korean: 동국대학교, Hanja: 東國大學校) is a private, coeducational university in South Korea, fundamentally based on Buddhism. Established in 1906 as Myeongjin School (명진학교; 明進學校) by Buddhist pioneers .... He is now a professor in Chugye University for the Arts. He started to learn how to draw from well-known artist Lee Sang-beom when he was 16 years old, but did not enter university at the age of 27. Since he started upper education quite late, he started to learn how to describe and draw different kinds of paintings such as figures and still-life objects. Chugye University For The Arts
Chugye University for the Arts is a South Korean institute of higher education in the fine arts. The campus is in Seodaemun-gu in central Seoul, the country's capital. Academics Undergraduate courses are offered toward Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees. They are provided by colleges of Music, Fine Arts, and Literature. Ahn Gyeon
An Gyeon was a Korean painter of the early Joseon period. He was born in Jigok, Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do. He entered royal service as a member of the Dohwaseo, the official painters of the Joseon court. In 1447, he drew (몽유도원도), a landscape painting for Prince Anpyeong. Considered the oldest landscape painting by a Korean artist, the painting is currently stored at Tenri University. South Korean Painters
South is one of the cardinal directions or compass points. The direction is the opposite of north and is perpendicular to both east and west.
