''Sensual'' is the second studio album by Puerto Rican singer Tito Rojas, released in 1990 by Musical Productions. From this album songs such as ''Ella Se Hizo Deseo'', ''Sensual'' and ''Siempre Sere'' stand out. It is currently considered one of the most notable musical comebacks in salsa history, after stalling his career on the album of the same name ''Tito Rojas'' in 1981. His hit ''Siempre Seré'' ranked number 35 in tropical songs on the Billboard charts in 1990. Background The album was made after the stagnation in the career as a solo singer in 1981. Previously participating in 1983 with the Fania All Stars with "El Campesino", also recording another solo album ''Solo Con Un Beso'' although it did not have the expected success. Tito Rojas
Julio César Rojas López, better known by his stage name Tito Rojas (June 14, 1955 – December 26, 2020) and also known as "El Gallo Salsero", was a Puerto Rican salsa singer and songwriter. Early years Tito Rojas was born and raised in the town of Humacao, Puerto Rico, which is located on the east coast of Puerto Rico. There, he received his primary and secondary education. He enjoyed singing to his family and he would also sing the latest salsa tunes with his friends. Singing career In 1975, he auditioned for Pedro Conga and his International Orchestra and was hired as a singer. After a short while, he left the band and joined the "Conjunto Borincuba", conducted by Justo Betancourt, as lead singer. With this band, he participated in the recording of ''Con Amor'' (With Love), which became a "hit" in 1978. Salsa music is a style of Latin American music. Because most of the basic musical components predate the labeling of salsa, there have been many controversies regarding its origin. Most songs considered as salsa are primarily based on son montuno, with elements of Mambo (music), mambo, Latin jazz, Bomba (Puerto Rico), bomba, plena and guaracha. All of these elements are adapted to fit the basic son montuno template when performed within the context of salsa. The Fania All-Stars is a musical group formed in 1968 as a showcase for the musicians on Fania Records, the leading salsa music record label of the time. History Beginnings In 1964, Fania Records was founded in New York City by Jerry Masucci, an Italian-American lawyer with a love for Cuban music, and Johnny Pacheco, a flutist, percussionist and bandleader born in the Dominican Republic but raised in the South Bronx who had like minded musical tastes. Masucci later bought out his partner Pacheco from Fania Entertainment Group, Ltd. and was the sole owner until his death in December 1997.
