Captain Sensible
Raymond Ian Burns (born 24 April 1954), known by the stage name Captain Sensible, is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist. Captain Sensible co-founded the punk rock band The Damned (band), the Damned, originally playing bass before switching to guitar. He embarked on a solo career during the 1980s, following a UK Singles Chart, UK number one hit with his cover of "Happy Talk (song), Happy Talk". Captain Sensible's distinctive appearance includes a red beret and sunglasses, typically with white frames. He was also a founder of the Captain_Sensible#Politics, Blah! Party. Early life Captain Sensible was born in Balham, London, on 24 April 1954. He went to Harris Academy South Norwood, Stanley Technical School for Boys in South Norwood, Croydon. French Frigate Sensible (1787)
''Sensible'' was a 32-gun ''Magicienne''-class frigate of the French Navy. The Royal Navy captured her in 1798 off Malta and took into service as HMS ''Sensible''. She was lost in a grounding off Ceylon in 1802. French Navy service From November 1789, she served at Martinique under ''captaine de vaisseau'' Durand de Braye (or Durand d'Ubraye). In September 1790, she ferried Joséphine de Beauharnais and her daughter Hortense from Martinique to Toulon. In 1792, she took part in operations against Sardinia. In 1793, she was equipped as a bomb ship. On 9 December 1795, ''Sensible'' was part of Gantaume's squadron. ''Sensible'', along with the corvettes '' Sardine'' and ''Rossignol'', captured the 28-gun in the neutral port of Smyrna. Sensible Software
Sensible Software was a British software company founded by Jon Hare and Chris Yates that was active from March 1986 to June 1999. It released seven number-one hit games and won numerous industry awards. The company was well known for the exaggeratedly small sprites as the player characters in many of their games, including ''Mega Lo Mania'', ''Sensible Soccer'', ''Cannon Fodder'', and ''Sensible Golf''.
