Senior Adviser To The President Of Sri Lanka
Senior Adviser to the President is a title used by highest-ranking advisers to the President of Sri Lanka. Senior Presidential Advisers are attached to but are not part of the Presidential Secretariat. The title has been used formally since 1990's to differentiate from other Presidential Advisers and Coordinating Secretaries. Responsibilities Over time, Senior Advisers have been appointed to advice the president on following areas: * Political Affairs * International Affairs * Economic Affairs * Legal and Constitutional Affairs * National Security Remuneration As of 2015, a Presidential Adviser were paid a salary of Rs 75,000 which was supplemented by an allowance of one third of their salary. In addition, an adviser is issued with a mobile phone, a laptop and a fully maintained vehicle as well as 200 liters of fuel which was increased based on their outstation travel. Presidential Secretariat (Sri Lanka)
The Presidential Secretariat ( Sinhala: ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලය; janādhipati lēkam kāryālaya) is the office of the President of Sri Lanka. It provides the administrative and institutional framework for the exercise of the duties, responsibilities and powers vested in the President by the Constitution. The Presidential Secretariat is located in the Old Parliament Building in Colombo. The head of the Presidential Secretariat is the Secretary to the President (also known as the President's Secretary), who is ex officio the most senior civil servant and head of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service. Coordinating Secretary
A Coordinating Secretary, in the Government of Sri Lanka is a senior member of the personal staff of the President, the Prime Minister, a Cabinet Minister or a Secretary of a Ministry. The appointment is within the power of the minister and may or may not be a civil servant, therefore are considered to be political appointees. A Coordinating Secretary is normally of middle management level however, as the key official responsible for disseminating the decision of Ministers and indeed as their gatekeeper, their role is of considerably greater significance than the grade or level they hold suggests. They will be assisted by one or more Assistants, or even head a whole office in which those may be section clerks.
