The Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy, named in honour of Joseph Albert Sullivan, is presented annually to the outstanding ice hockey player (Player of the Year) in U Sports, the governing body for Canadian university athletics. While studying to be a doctor at the University of Toronto in the 1920s, Sullivan was the goaltender for the Toronto Varsity Blues. Joseph Albert Taylor Sullivan (January 8, 1901 – September 30, 1988) was a Canadian Olympic ice hockey player, physician, surgeon, and Canadian senator. Queen's Golden Gaels
The Queen's Gaels (also known as the Queen's Golden Gaels) is the Athletics program representing Queen's University at Kingston in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Team colours are blue, red, and gold. The main athletics facilities include Richardson Memorial Stadium, the Queen's Athletics and Recreation Centre, Nixon Field and Tindall Field. Queen's teams have had a variety of successes both provincially and nationally. The UPEI Panthers are the men's and women's athletic teams that represent the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Calgary Dinos
The Calgary Dinos are the athletic teams that represent the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. They were known as the "Dinosaurs" but usually referred to as the "Dinos" until 1999, when the name was officially shortened. Some of its venues are the Jack Simpson Gymnasium (basketball m/w, volleyball m/w, track and field m/w), McMahon Stadium (football, soccer m/w), Hawkings Field (field hockey), University of Calgary Aquatic Centre (swimming, often shortened to Aquatic Centre) and a 200m Running Track (cross-country and track & field practices). Wayne Hynes (born May 29, 1969) is a Canadians, Canadian-born Germans, German former professional ice hockey player. Hynes competed at the 2001 IIHF World Championship, 2001 and 2002 IIHF World Championships as a member of the Germany men's national ice hockey team . He also played ice hockey at the 2002 Winter Olympics with Team Germany. Coaching career From 2007 to 2010 Hynes was a head coach in the German 2nd Bundesliga (ice hockey), 2nd Bundesliga. The Waterloo Warriors are the athletic teams that represent the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Robert Douglas Whistle (born April 30, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played for the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Whistle was signed as a free agent by the New York Rangers on August 13, 1985. He played 32 games for the Rangers before getting traded to St. Louis for Tony McKegney and Bruce Bell.
