Sen (Bengali: সেন) is a surname derived from "Sena", the Sanskrit word for "army". The surname is commonly found in the east of the Indian Subcontinent; namely Bangladesh & West Bengal, India mainly among Baidya and Kayastha communities. Ananda Prakash Sen
Ananda Prakash Sen (born 20 September 1923, date of death unknown), often known as A. P. Sen, was an Indian judge who served as a justice of the Supreme Court of India. Career Sen came from a lawyers' family of Madhya Pradesh. He passed from Science College and Law College, Nagpur and started practice in the district court in 1945. With the creation of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, he shifted to Jabalpur in 1956 and practised continuous 21 years on constitutional, civil and taxation matters. He became the advocate general of Madhya Pradesh in June 1966. On 7 November 1967 he was elevated as additional judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and became the permanent judge in July 1968. Amalesh Sen
Amalesh Sen ( bn, অমলেশ সেন; 2 March 1943 – 7 October 2017) was a Bangladeshi football player and coach. He started his career in Dhaka by playing for Fire Service Team and Shadhin Bangla Football Team, but spent many years as a player and later coach for Dhaka Abahani. Amalesh is the first ever goalscorer in a Dhaka Derby match, he scored the historic goal for Abahani in 1973. Amiya Prosad Sen (born 1952) is a historian with an interest in the intellectual and cultural history of modern India. Currently he is Sivadasani Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, Oxford (UK). He was previously the Heinrich Zimmer Chair at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University. He has served as Professor of Modern Indian History at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Amartya Kumar Sen (; born 3 November 1933) is an Indian economist and philosopher, who since 1972 has taught and worked in the United Kingdom and the United States.
