Semisi Tora
Semisi Tora (born 28 January 1979) is a Fijian rugby league footballer who represented his country at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. He plays as a or forward. He is the son of dual-code rugby international Kaiava Salusalu. As of 2012, he was playing for the Nyngan Tigers. Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. 2008 Rugby League World Cup
The 2008 Rugby League World Cup was the thirteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup since its inauguration in 1954, and the first since the 2000 tournament. The tournament was held in Australia from 26 October, culminating in the final between Australia and New Zealand on 22 November. The tournament was the fourth time that the World Cup was held in Australia, the first being in 1957. The tournament was won by New Zealand, who defeated Australia 34–20 in the final in one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport. The tournament featured the best ten teams around the globe which were split into three groups. A total of eighteen matches took place in twelve different venues across four Australian states. The tournament ended a year of celebrations commemorating the centenary of the game in the southern hemisphere and was part of the Festival of World Cups. Kaiava Salusalu
Kaiava Salusalu, written also as ''Kaiyava Salusalu'' (born Ba, 8 May 1957) is a Fijian former rugby union and rugby league footballer who played as a centre. He is father of Semisi Tora, who plays for Nyanga Tigers and Fiji Bati. Career Rugby union career His first international cap for Fiji was in the match against Tonga, at Suva, on 28 August 1982. He was also part of the 1987 Rugby World Cup, where he played two matches in the tournament. Salusalu also played for the South Pacific Barbarians, on a rebel tour in South Africa. His last international cap was during the match against Samoa, at Nausori, on 23 June 1990. Nyngan Tigers
Nyngan () is a town in the centre of New South Wales, Australia, in the Bogan Shire local government area within the Orana Region of central New South Wales. At the 2016 census, Nyngan had a population of 1,988 people. Nyngan is situated on the Bogan River between Narromine and Bourke, on the junction of the Mitchell Highway and Barrier Highway, south of Charleville and north-west of Sydney by road. The Barrier Highway starts at Nyngan, and runs west to Cobar and on through Wilcannia and Broken Hill into South Australia. Nyngan Airport is a small airport just north of the town centre. Nyngan also lies on the Main Western railway line of New South Wales but is no longer served by passenger trains. The line remains open to freight traffic. 2006 Pacific Cup
The 2006 Pacific Cup was the 10th Pacific Cup, a rugby league tournament held between Pacific teams. The tournament was hosted in Auckland and eventually won by Tonga, who defeated Fiji in the final. Fiji's Asaeli Saravaki was the Player of the Tournament.
