Sembawang Park
Sembawang Park (Chinese: 三巴旺公园; ms, Taman Sembawang) is a 15-hectare park situated in Sembawang, in the north of Singapore facing the Straits of Johor overlooking Malaysia. It is located at the end of Sembawang Road, where the former Sembawang Road End Bus Terminal was. History Sembawang Park got its name from the Sembawang Tree ( Malay for '' Mesua Ferruginea''). There is one Sembawang tree at the centre of the car park C1 close to the Sembawang Bus terminal. The Sembawang park has many interesting connections to Singapore's historical past. The pathways inside the park are old roads, that have recently been repaved with asphalt. The National Parks Board (NParks) is a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development of the Government of Singapore. History In November 1989, Minister of National Development, S. Dhanabalan, presented the National Parks Bill in Parliament to form a body to manage the three parks, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Fort Canning Park and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, in Singapore. Sembawang Bus Interchange
Sembawang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located in Sembawang, Singapore. Opened on 20 November 2005, it provides hassle-free transfer to the nearby Sembawang MRT station. This is one of the interchanges in a residential estate to not have any feeder services. History Before the opening of Sembawang Bus Interchange, various bus services terminated at scattered parts of Sembawang town. These include Admiralty Road West Bus Terminal for Service 980, Sembawang Road End Bus Terminal (near Sembawang Park) for Service 167 and the pair of bus stops outside Sembawang MRT station for Service 981. Sembawang MRT Station
Sembawang MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North-South line (NSL). Located in Sembawang, Singapore along Sembawang Road, the station is close to the Sun Plaza shopping centre and Sembawang Bus Interchange. The station is operated by SMRT Trains. Originally planned to be built later than the other stations of the Woodlands extension, the station's construction was brought forward when plans were revised in November 1992. Completed along with the other Woodlands extension stations on 10 February 1996, Sembawang station has the most number of bicycle stands for cyclists working at Sembawang Shipyard. The Former Ford Factory (also Old Ford Motor Factory and Old Ford Factory depending on sources) is located along Upper Bukit Timah Road at Bukit Timah in Singapore.
