Selva Magal (1967 Film)
''Selva Magal'' () is a 1967 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film, directed by K. V. Srinivas and produced by T. S. Rajasundaresan. The dialogue was written by Subbu Arumugam and the story written by Rajasri. Music was by M. S. Viswanathan. It stars Jaishankar, Rajasree, Srikanth, Shylashri, Nagesh and Major Sundarrajan. The story was about robbery gangs. This film was a box office hit. Plot After a string of robberies, Balaram flees the country abandoning his wife Parvathi and son. Circumstances separate mother and child, leaving the young boy under the care of Sekar, who raises him into a well educated gentleman. Jaishankar
Jaishankar (12 July 1938 – 3 June 2000) was an Indian actor known for his work in Tamil cinema. He was a very popular lead actor in the 1960s and 70s. He was credited onscreen with title of ''Makkal Kalaingnar'' (people's artiste) or ''Makkal Thamizhan'' (people's Tamil) in most films starring him. He was also referred to as ''Thennakathu James Bond'' (South Indian James Bond) because of his roles in films such as ''Vallavan Oruvan'' and ''CID Shankar''. Biography Jaishankar, whose real name was Shankar hailed from Kumbakonam, but was born in Thirunelveli to parents Subramaniyan Iyer who was the Judge of Thirunelveli court and Yogambal on 12 July 1938. Pandari Bai (1930 – 29 January 2003) was an Indian actress who worked in South Indian cinema, mostly in Kannada cinema during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. She is considered Kannada cinema's first successful heroine. She has acted as both heroine and mother to stalwarts such as Rajkumar, M. G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan.
