Sellia ( el, Σελλία) is a small village in Crete, Greece, in the municipal unit of Vamos, in the regional unit of Chania. The village is located in between the towns of Vamos and Georgioupoli on the Drapano Peninsula, close to the north coast of the island, in the Apokoronas region. It has a winter population of 50 and a summer population of about 150. It is divided into Upper and Lower Selia. It is a very small, quiet rural village with many older homes and plenty of traditional Cretan charm plus views of the Cretan White Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Vamos
Vamos (Greek: Βάμος) is a small town and former municipality in the Chania regional unit, Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform "Kallikratis" it is a municipal unit, part of the municipality of Apokoronas, serving as its historical capital. It is situated on a small hill at an altitude of above sea level, about from Chania. In Vamos, one can find several restaurants, snack bars and shops in the village, as well as many public services, such as a fully equipped health center, schools, police station and the regional court for the regions of Apokoronas and Sfakia. Georgioupoli ( el, Γεωργιούπολη) is a resort village and former municipality in the Chania regional unit, Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Apokoronas, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of . It is located east of Chania, about west of Rethymno and about west of Heraklio. It was named after Prince George of Greece, high commissioner of the island in the last years of Ottoman occupation. Faraklata ( el, Φαρακλάτα) is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Argostoli, Cephalonia, Greece. It is situated on a mountain slope above the eastern shore of the Gulf of Argostoli, at about 220 m elevation. Faraklata is 2 km south of Dilinata, 4 km northeast of Argostoli and 7 km northwest of Valsamata. Apokoronas ( el, Αποκόρωνας) is a municipality and a former province (επαρχία) in the Chania regional unit, north-west Crete, Greece. It is situated on the north coast of Crete, to the east of Chania itself. The seat of the municipality is the village Vryses. The municipality has an area of . Geography Apokoronas extends from the foothills of the White Mountains north to the coast, in a wide plain with rolling hills. Cretan White Mountains
Lefka Ori ( el, Λευκά Όρη, meaning 'White Mountains') or Madares ( from the Cretan Greek meaning 'without coverage, bald, bare of any vegetation for high mountain areas') is a mountain range located in Western Crete, in the Chania prefecture. The White Mountains or Lefka Ori occupy a large part of the centre of West Crete and are the main feature of the region. They consist mainly of limestone, from light grey to bluish or black color. The White Mountains have taken their name from the perpetual white or off-white color of their peaks as the off white of limestone during the summer and fall interchanges with the snow that covers the peaks until late in spring.
