Greg Selinger
Gregory Francis Selinger (born February 16, 1951) is a Canadian former politician who served as the 21st premier of Manitoba from 2009 until 2016, leading an NDP government. From 1999 to 2009 he was the Minister of Finance in the government of his immediate predecessor, Gary Doer. Selinger was the member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for St. Boniface from 1999 until his resignation in early 2018. His party was defeated by Brian Pallister and the Progressive Conservatives in the 2016 Manitoba general election. Early life and education Selinger was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, the son of Margaret Eva (Crawford) and Nicodemus Selinger. He came to Manitoba from Saskatchewan as a child with his single mother, who ran a small clothing store in Winnipeg. Shelomo Selinger
Shelomo Selinger (born May 31, 1928) is a sculptor and artist living and working in Paris since 1956. Biography Selinger was born to a Jewish family in the small Polish town of Szczakowa (today part of Jaworzno) near Oświęcim (Auschwitz''Le Petit Larousse'' 2008, éd. Larousse, Paris 1141). He received both a traditional Jewish upbringing and a Polish public school education. In 1943 he was deported with his father from the Chrzanów ghetto to the Faulbrück concentration camp in Germany. Three months later his father was murdered and Selinger remained alone in the camp. His mother and one of his sisters also perished during the Holocaust. Selinger survived nine German death camps: Faulbrück, Gröditz, Markstadt, Fünfteichen, Gross-Rosen, Flossenburg, Dresden, Leitmeritz and finally Theresienstadt, as well as two death marches. Emily Selinger (, McGary; February 22, 1848 – July 16, 1927) was an American painter of still life and floral, author of travel writing and poetry, and an educator. Early life and education Emily Harris McGary was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, February 22, 1848. Her parents were James and Elizabeth Otis Paine (Keller) McGary. She was a descendant on her father's side of Flora McDonald. Her father, a planter, amassed a fortune in the East India trade. He died just before the American Civil War, and his family were stripped of the large fortune left them through the mismanagement of a relative and by the war. Joe Selinger
Joe Selinger is a Canadian retired ice hockey goaltender who was an All-American for Michigan State and led the team it its first NCAA tournament appearance in 1959. Career Selinger was the starting goalie for the Regina Pats when the team won the Abbott Cup in 1955. The following fall he began attending Michigan State University and would help turn around a moribund program. To that point, MSU had finished in either last or second-last in the WIHL and had never finished with a record of even .400. While he was on the freshman team, the Spartans continued that trend and won one of eighteen conference games. When Selinger made the varsity team the following season the team still finished in last place, but quintupled their WIHL victory totals while lowering the team's goals against by 25. Aryeh "Lonk" Selinger (born 5 April 1937) is an Israeli volleyball manager and former player. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest volleyball coaches of all time.
