Selavatnet
Straumsetervatnet or Selavatnet is a lake on the border of the municipalities of Åfjord and Steinkjer in Trøndelag county, Norway. The majority of the lake lies in Steinkjer, with the northwestern end of the lake partially lying in Åfjord. The village of Sela (and Sela Church) lies on the northern side of the lake and the village of Sandsetra at the southeastern end of the lake. The lake is one of the sources for the Folla river system which flows into the Trondheimsfjord at the village of Follafoss. Follafoss
Follafoss is a village in the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village lies on the northern shore of the Beitstadfjorden, about halfway between the east and west end of the fjord. Follafoss village is about southwest of the village of Malm and about northeast of the village of Verrastranda. The Follaelva river empties into the Trondheimsfjord at Follafoss. The lakes Holden and Selavatnet both feed the river and also provide power through the Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk power company through hydroelectric power from the dams on the lakes. Sela Church
Sela Church ( no, Sela fjellkirke) is a chapel of the Church of Norway in Steinkjer municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Sela. It is an annex chapel for the Malm parish which is part of the Stiklestad prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1997. The church seats about 120 people. History The first chapel in Sela was built in 1895. The chapel was built by Petter Estensen. The villagers financed the building and the teacher Anton Granhus made the drawings for the local builders. The church was long, with a low spire. It was built to seat about 100 people. On 26 October 1895, a royal resolution granted permission to consecrate the small chapel that the local residents had built. It was consecrated on 15 July 1896 by Bishop Johannes Skaar. Trondheimsfjord
The Trondheim Fjord or Trondheimsfjorden (), an inlet of the Norwegian Sea, is Norway's third-longest fjord at long. It is located in the west-central part of the country in Trøndelag county, and it stretches from the municipality of Ørland in the west to the municipality of Steinkjer in the north, passing the city of Trondheim on its way. Its maximum depth is , between Orkland and Indre Fosen.
