Selam (Australopithecus)
Selam (DIK-1/1) is the fossilized skull and other skeletal remains of a three-year-old ''Australopithecus afarensis'' female hominin, whose bones were first found in Dikika, Ethiopia in 2000 and recovered over the following years. Although she has often been nicknamed Lucy's baby, the specimen has been dated at 3.3 million years ago, approximately 120,000 years older than "Lucy" (dated to about 3.18 mya). Discovery The fossils were discovered by Zeresenay Alemseged, and are remarkable for both their age and condition. On 20 September 2006 the journal ''Nature'' presented the findings of a dig in Dikika, Ethiopia, a few miles south of Hadar, the well-known site where the fossil hominin known as Lucy was found. The recovered skeleton comprises almost the entire skull and torso and many parts of the limbs. Selam Musai
Selam Musa Salaria or Selam Musai (1857–1920) was one of the Albanian military leaders of the Vlora War. He died fighting at the advanced age of 63. Posthumously he was awarded the People's Hero of Albania medal. Life He was born in 1857 Salari, Tepelenë District, Gjirokaster County, Albania from a patriotic Albanian family. In 1912, during the Occupation of Albania (1912–1913), he fought against the Greek forces. He was wounded during the battles. In 1920 he became a member of the National Defense Committee. He actively participated in the Battle of Vlora when he was 63 years old, and at Qafë-Koçi was killed on 12 June (at 22:00) 1920, putting himself in front of an artillery piece to defend his younger comrades and give them more courage to advance and attack. Selam Tesfaye ( am, ሰላም ተስፋዬ; born 17 October 1992) is an Ethiopian film actress. Her roles often placed her as a leading actress in various films. As recipient of multiple awards, notably Gumma Film Awards, she is one of the most popular icon in the Cinema of Ethiopia, Ethiopian film industry. She had the lead role in the film ''Crumbs (film), Crumbs'', directed by Miguel Llansó, and promoted as the first Ethiopian-made science-fiction film. Hagere Selam (Degua Tembien)
Hagere Selam (meaning ''place of peace'') is a town in northern Ethiopia. Located on the Mekelle-Abiy Addi regional road, it is located at an elevation of 2650 metres above sea level. The town is the administrative center of the Dogu'a Tembien woreda. The weekly market is on Saturdays. Hagere Selam is located on the saddle point between two of the higher points in Tigray (Imba Zuw'ala and Tsatsen).
