Rajendra Pal Gautam is an Indian politician, Dalit activist,Social worker and the former Minister for Water, Tourist, Culture, Arts & Languages and Gurudwara Elections in the Government of Delhi. He is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party and represents Seemapuri Assembly constituency in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Early life and education Gautam was born in Delhi. He holds an LL.B. degree from Delhi University and is an advocate by profession. He is an Ambedkarite and Buddhist activist. Political career In 2014, he became a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. The Delhi Legislative Assembly election was held on 7 February 2015 to elect 70 members of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi. The results were announced on 10 February 2015. The Aam Aadmi Party secured an absolute majority in the assembly, winning 67 of the 70 seats. Background In the 2013 Delhi state elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (along with its pre-poll ally Shiromani Akali Dal) emerged as the single-largest party, winning 32 out of the 70 seats. However, they fell short of an outright majority and therefore were unable to form the government. Dharmender Singh Koli is an Indian politician from Delhi. He is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party and was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Delhi in December 2013 from the Seemapuri constituency. Early life and education Koli passed the Class 10 All India Secondary School Examination in 2005. Political career From 2005 to 2013, Koli had assisted his social activist sister, Santosh Koli, in her work for Parivartan, an organisation that had been established by Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. The AAP was founded in November 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal and his then-companions following the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, popularly known as Anna Andolan. The AAP is currently the ruling party of two governments: Delhi, the capital territory of India, and the state of Punjab. The party's election symbol is a broom.
