''Seemabaddha'' ( bn, সীমাবদ্ধ ''Shimabôddho''; English title: ''Company Limited'') is a 1971 social drama Bengali film directed by Satyajit Ray. It is based on the novel ''Seemabaddha'' by Mani Shankar Mukherjee. It stars Barun Chanda, Harindranath Chattopadhyay, and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles. The film was the second entry in Ray's Calcutta trilogy, which included ''Pratidwandi'' (''The Adversary'') (1970) and ''Jana Aranya'' (''The Middleman'') (1976). The films deal with the rapid modernization of Calcutta, rising corporate culture and greed, and the futility of the rat race. Barun Chanda
Barun Chanda is an Indian Bengali advertising professional, actor and author based in the city of Kolkata. He is mostly remembered for his role in Satyajit Ray's ''Seemabaddha''. Biography Chanda was born in Dhaka in present day Bangladesh, but came to Kolkata at an early age to pursue higher education. Chanda acted in the 1971 Bengali movie ''Seemabaddha'', directed by Satyajit Ray. After that he did not appear in any films for over twenty years. In 1992 he again acted in director Rituparno Ghosh's debut film ''Hirer Angti''. Next he acted in ''Kalo Cheetah'' (2004). Satyajit Ray
Satyajit Ray (; 2 May 1921 – 23 April 1992) was an Indian director, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker, author, essayist, lyricist, magazine editor, illustrator, calligrapher, and music composer. One of the greatest auteurs of film-making, Ray is celebrated for works including ''The Apu Trilogy'' (1955–1959), ''The Music Room'' (1958), ''The Big City'' (1963) and ''Charulata'' (1964). Arati Das (1944 – 6 February 2020), known professionally as Miss Shefali, was an Indian Bengali actress and dancer who was recognized for her work in Bengali cinema. Harindranath Chattopadhyay (2 April 1898 – 23 June 1990) was an Indian English poet, dramatist, actor, musician and a member of the 1st Lok Sabha from Vijayawada constituency. He was the younger brother of Sarojini Naidu, the second woman President of the Indian National Congress and first Indian woman to hold the position, and Virendranath Chattopadhyay, an international communist revolutionary. Mani Shankar Mukherjee (commonly known as ''Sankar'' in both Bengali and English-language literature) is an Indian writer in the Bengali language, who also served as the Sheriff of Kolkata. Haradhan Bandopadhyay (6 November 1926 – 5 January 2013) was a Bengali Indian male actor of television and films. He made his debut in the 1948 Bengali film ''Devdut'', directed by Atanu Bandopadhyay. He worked with some of the most prominent directors of Bengali cinema, like Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen.
