The Seems
The Seems is a children's novel series by John Hulme and Michael Wexler. The series follows the character of Becker Drane, age 12, living in a world called "The Seems"; in the series, The Seems world is responsible for the protection of the reader's "reality" (that is, planet Earth). The series currently includes '' The Glitch in Sleep'', published in 2007, '' The Split Second'', published in 2008, and '' The Lost Train of Thought'', published in 2009. A fourth book, called ''A Better Place'', has been confirmed, but no release date has been announced yet. Synopsis The series follows Becker Drane, a Fixer for a world called The Seems, which provides our world with resources such as Sleep, Time and Energy. Berthold Carl Seemann
Berthold Carl Seemann (25 February 1825, in Hanover, Germany – 10 October 1871, in Nicaragua, Central America), was a German botanist. He travelled widely and collected and described plants from the Pacific and South America. In 1844 he travelled to the United Kingdom to study botany at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. On the recommendation of Sir WJ Hooker, he was appointed naturalist on the voyage of exploration of the American west coast and Pacific by Henry Kellett on HMS ''Herald'', 1847–1851, along with the naturalists Thomas Edmondston, and John Goodridge. The expedition returned via Hawaii, Hong Kong and the East Indies, calling at the Cape in March 1851. Here he met up with his old acquaintance Zeyher, and with Baur and Juritz they climbed Table Mountain on 13 March 1851, Ecklon being unwell and unable to accompany them. It Seems
''It Seems'' is the fifth studio album by Colin Newman, lead singer of post-punk band Wire. It was released in 1988 by Crammed Discs. ''It Seems'' built on the reflective and highly orchestrated of his 1986 album '' Commercial Suicide'', albeit with far more use of sequencers – something Newman would continue to work with for a number of years. Both ''Commercial Suicide'' and ''It Seems'' featured Malka Spigel, who married Newman in 1986, and who has been included in all subsequent solo and collaborative work. Critical reception The album received positive reviews. Jim Derogatis and Wilson Neate, writing in ''Trouser Press'', said that ''It Seems'' built on what they called the "spacious, minimalist approach" of Newman's 1986 album '' Commercial Suicide'', saying that ''It Seems'' "refines this sound and has several songs ('Quite Unrehearsed,' 'Round & Round' and the title track) that are as striking as anything Wire recorded." Mass spectrometry is a scientific technique for measuring the mass-to-charge ratio of ions. It is often coupled to chromatographic techniques such as gas- or liquid chromatography and has found widespread adoption in the fields of analytical chemistry and biochemistry where it can be used to identify and characterize small molecules and proteins (proteomics). The large volume of data produced in a typical mass spectrometry experiment requires that computers be used for data storage and processing. Over the years, different manufacturers of mass spectrometers have developed various proprietary data formats for handling such data which makes it difficult for academic scientists to directly manipulate their data. To address this limitation, several open, XML-based data formats have recently been developed by the Trans-Proteomic Pipeline at the Institute for Systems Biology to facilitate data manipulation and innovation in the public sector. Seymour L. "Sy" Studley (May, 1841 – July 9, 1901), nicknamed "Warhorse", also known as "Seem" Studley, was an American professional baseball player who played five games in center field for the Washington Nationals of the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players. He collected two hits in 21 at bats for a career .095 batting average. Aéroplanes Morane-Saulnier was a French aircraft manufacturing company formed in October 1911 by Raymond Saulnier (aircraft manufacturer), Raymond Saulnier (1881–1964) and the Robert and Léon Morane, Morane brothers, Léon (1885–1918) and Robert (1886–1968). The company was taken over and diversified in the 1960s. Esbjerg Municipality () is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region of Southern Denmark on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark.
