Sedat Laçiner
Sedat Laçiner (born 1972 in Kırıkkale, Turkey) is a Turkish academic specialist on the Middle East and International Relations, with particular reference to Turkish foreign policy and rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (COMU). Biography Laçiner studied at Ankara University, as well as the University of Sheffield, where he was awarded an MA in International Politics (with distinction), and King's College London, where he gained his PhD. Since 2001, he has been teaching International Relations and International Security at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and the National Police Academy Security Studies Institute, Ankara. Prof. Laçiner was appointed president of the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2011 and became the youngest rector in Turkey. He is editor of the "Journal of Administrative Studies" and the "Review of International Law and Politics", as well as being a regular contributor to TRT and other Turkish TV and radio broadcasts. Kırıkkale
Kırıkkale is the capital of the Kırıkkale Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. It is located 80 km east of Ankara which is the capital city of Turkey. According to the 2000 census, the population of the province is 280,834, of which 192,705 live in the city of Kırıkkale. The name of the city means ''broken castle''. The town of Kırıkkale is located on the Ankara-Kayseri railway near the Kızılırmak River in central Turkey. Formerly a village, it owes its rapid rise in population mainly to the establishment of steel mills in the 1950s. These works, among the largest in the country, specialize in high-quality alloy steel and machinery. Abdullah Gül
Abdullah Gül (; ; born 29 October 1950) is a Turkish politician who served as the 11th President of Turkey, in office from 2007 to 2014. He previously served for four months as Prime Minister from 2002 to 2003, and concurrently served as both Deputy Prime Minister and as Foreign Minister between 2003 and 2007. He is currently a member of the Advisory Panel for the President of the Islamic Development Bank. Advocating staunch Islamist political views during his university years, Gül became a Member of Parliament for Kayseri in 1991 and was re-elected in 1995, 1999, 2002 and 2007. Initially a member of the Islamist Welfare Party, Gül joined the Virtue Party in 1998 after the former was banned for anti-secular activities. Institute for Armenian Research ( Ermeni Araştırmaları Enstitüsü; EREN; ERAREN) was a privately funded think tank sub-working group in Turkey established in April 2001 by the Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies.
