''Sect of the White Worm'' is the first EP by Canadian metal band 3 Inches of Blood. It was self-released in April 2001. Vocalist Cam Pipes was originally only invited to record background clean vocals for select tracks after the recording process was mostly complete, However the band liked the idea of having him on board full-time and so he recorded more vocals which were dubbed over the rest of the songs before it reached its release. 3 Inches of Blood was a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 1999 in Victoria, British Columbia, last consisting of Cam Pipes, Justin Hagberg, Shane Clark, and Ash Pearson, none of whom were original members of the band. Their music was strongly influenced by the new wave of British heavy metal movement. Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. ''Battlecry Under A Wintersun'' is the debut studio album by Canadian power metal band 3 Inches of Blood. It was released in 2002 by Megarock Records. It is the last release by the band to feature original bassist Rich Trawick and drummer Geoff Trawick. The album peaked at number 18 on the Canadian national college charts and at number 2 on the national loud charts. The album was re-released in 2009 on Minion Records, marking the first time it was made available in the U.S. The reissue also includes 4 bonus tracks, taken from the "Sect of the White Worm" EP. Cam Pipes
Cam Pipes is a Canadian musician who performed as the lead vocalist and bassist in the heavy metal band 3 Inches of Blood. He performs a falsetto vocal style reminiscent of Udo Dirkschneider and King Diamond. Pipes was the only member of 3 Inches of Blood to have been featured on all of their albums, although he was not a founding member of the band. Pipes' influences include Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Accept and classical music. Pipes formerly played bass for black metal band Allfather. Pipes was also known for playing El Diablo Azul on all three ''Meat Market'' films. Screaming is an extended vocal technique that is popular in "aggressive" music genres such as heavy metal, punk rock, and noise music and others. It is common in the more extreme subgenres of heavy metal, such as death and black metal as well as many other subgenres.
