Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know
''Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know'' is a musical comedy revue that ran Off-Broadway from 1997 to 2000. The revue was produced by Scott Perrin and based on a Fodor's travel guide of the same title written by Scott's sister, Wendy Perrin. The musical depicts travel woes through songs and sketches. The head writer, Lesley Davison, was not only a comedy writer for "Laugh-In" and many other TV and live productions, but she was also Scott and Wendy's mother. The musical is currently licensed through Music Theater International, see www.SESTSK.com. The show's European premiere was in Cambridge, UK at the Playroom at Cambridge Arts Theatre, presented by the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society. The Triad Theater, formerly known as Palsson's Supper Club, Steve McGraw's, and Stage 72, is a cabaret-style performing arts venue located on West 72nd Street on New York's Upper West Side. A revue is a type of multi-act popular theatre, theatrical entertainment that combines music, dance, and sketch comedy, sketches. Cambridge Arts Theatre is a 666-seat theatre on Peas Hill and St Edward's Passage in central Cambridge, England. The theatre presents a varied mix of drama, dance, opera and pantomime. Stan Freeman
Stanley Freeman (April 3, 1920 – January 13, 2001) was an American composer, pianist, lyricist, musical arranger, conductor, and studio musician. Biography Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Freeman studied classical piano in college and earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Hartford. After serving in World War II, he joined Tex Beneke's big band, eventually leaving to perform as a pianist and later a comic in nightclubs. Freeman's work as a studio musician included sessions with Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Percy Faith, Mabel Mercer, Charlie Parker, and Rosemary Clooney, for whom he played harpsichord on her hit " Come on-a My House." Jay Leonhart (born December 6, 1940) is an American double bassist, singer, and songwriter who has worked in jazz and popular music. He has performed with Judy Garland, Bucky Pizzarelli, Carly Simon, Frank Sinatra, and Sting. Leonhart is noted for his clever songwriting, often laced with dry humor.
