Second Harutyunyan Government
The Second Harutyunyan government is the current governing body of Artsakh since its formation on 21 May 2020. Arayik Harutyunyan is the current President, who was elected in 2020 general election and is the head of state and head of government. It is a minority government of Free Motherland - UCA Alliance with the support of United Motherland party. Structure The structure of the government of Artsakh consists of twelve ministries and three other bodies. Each ministry is responsible for elaborating and implementing governmental decisions in its respective sphere. Republic Of Artsakh
Artsakh, officially the Republic of Artsakh () or the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (),, is a list of states with limited recognition, breakaway state in the South Caucasus whose territory is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan. Artsakh controls a part of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast, including the capital of Stepanakert. It is an Enclave and exclave, enclave within Azerbaijan. Its only overland access route to Armenia is via the wide Lachin corridor which is under the control of Russian peacekeepers. The predominantly Armenian-populated region of Nagorno-Karabakh was claimed by both the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the First Republic of Armenia when both countries became independent in 1918 after the fall of the Russian Empire, and a brief war over the region broke out in 1920. Jalal Harutyunyan
Jalal Anatolii Harutyunyan ( hy, Ջալալ Անատոլիի Հարությունյան; born 11 November 1974) is an Armenian general from the Republic of Artsakh who formerly served as Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and Minister of Defense of Artsakh. He commanded the Artsakh Defense Army during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War until his dismissal on 27 October 2020 after being wounded in action. He was appointed Head of the Military Control Service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia in February 2021. Harutyunyan was suspended from this role in connection with a criminal case opened against him in September 2022. Early life and education Harutyunyan was born on 11 November 1974, in Badara, then a part of the Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Oblast in the Azerbaijan SSR. Aram Sargsyan (Artsakh Politician)
Aram Zaveni Sargsyan ( hy, Արամ Զավենի Սարգսյան; born 2 January 1961) is an Armenian political figure. He was Prime Minister of Armenia from 3 November 1999 to 2 May 2000. He is the younger brother of Vazgen Sargsyan. In 2001, he founded the Hanrapetutyun Party. He supported the opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan in the 2008 Armenian presidential election. Sargsyan was elected to the Armenian National Assembly in May 2012 with the Armenian National Congress, but he didn't accept the seat. In the 2017 Armenian parliamentary election, Sargsyan was elected through the proportional list of the Way Out Alliance. Samvel Shahramanyan
Samvel Sergeyi Shahramanyan ( hy, Սամվել Սերգեյի Շահրամանյան; born 1 December 1978) is an Armenian politician serving since 10 September 2023 as the 5th and final president of the Republic of Artsakh, to be dissolved on 1 January 2024. He was also State Minister from August to September 2023. He also served as Minister of Military Patriotic Upbringing, Youth, Sports and Tourism, Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh and a Major General in the Artsakh Defence Army.
