Second Chance (1987 TV Series)
''Second Chance'' is an American sitcom, created by David W. Duclon and Gary Menteer, which aired on Fox from September 26 to November 28, 1987. The series was then revamped under the new title ''Boys Will Be Boys'', and ran in the new format from January 16 to May 14, 1988. ''Second Chance'' In its original format, the show starred Kiel Martin as Charles Russell, a deceased man, and Matthew Perry as his younger self, who is nicknamed Chazz. On July 29, 2011, Charles dies in a hovercraft accident, and his soul is promptly sent to the high spiritual palace of Saint Peter ( Joseph Maher). It is there that Saint Peter determines that Charles is too good for hell but not good enough to get into heaven; therefore, Charles is sent back to Earth in the year 1987, to re-join his life during the teenage years in order to help himself, through the younger Chazz, make more moral choices. Gary Menteer
Gary Wayne Menteer (November 21, 1939 - January 18, 2016) was an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter. With David W. Duclon, he was the creator of the short-lived American sitcom television series '' Boys Will Be Boys''. Career In the 1960s to 1980s, Menteer appeared in television variety shows and films including ''Bye Bye Birdie'', ''Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse'', ''The Carol Burnett Show'', '' Finian's Rainbow'' and '' Hello, Dolly!. Menteer was nominated for Primetime Emmy awards in 1985 and 1986 in the category Outstanding Children's Program for his work as producer on ''Punky Brewster''. Richard Kline (born April 29, 1944) is an American actor and television director. His roles include Larry Dallas on the sitcom ''Three's Company'', Richie in the later seasons of ''It's a Living'' and Jeff Beznick in '' Noah Knows Best''. Early life Kline was born in New York City. He was raised in Queens by parents who practiced Reform Judaism. He attended Queens College and has a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater from Northwestern University. Mike Marmer
Merrill D. Marmer (September 25, 1925 – January 12, 2002) was an American screenwriter. Marmer was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. During World War II he served with the U.S. Marine Corps on Okinawa. After his discharge he attended Suffolk University on the G.I. Bill. While at university he acted in student productions before deciding to become a writer. Often working with Stan Burns, Marmer wrote for television programs including ''Get Smart'', ''The Carol Burnett Show'', ''Three's Company'', ''Gilligan's Island'', and the early 1970s children's show ''Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp''. Muammar Gaddafi, the deposed leader of Libya, was captured and killed on 20 October 2011 after the Battle of Sirte. Gaddafi was found west of Sirte after his convoys were attacked by NATO aircraft. The 1986 United States bombing of Libya, code-named Operation El Dorado Canyon, consisted of air strikes by the United States against Libya on Tuesday 15 April 1986. On 5 April 1986, three people were killed and 229 injured when ''La Belle'' discothèque was bombed in the Friedenau district of West Berlin.
