Seccotine
Seccotine is a recurring character from the ''Spirou et Fantasio'' comics, and the first major female character of the series, a strong-willed reporter. She was created by André Franquin, and made her first appearance in ''La turbotraction'' serialised in 1953 and published in the album '' La corne de rhinocéros'' in 1955. Character She is an energetic journalist with a knack for outwitting Fantasio as they compete to uncover interesting and/or sensational stories, much to his frustration. Because of this, there is always some antagonism between them, though Spirou is much more friendly with her. However, she has also been very helpful, such as during the events in Palombia in ''Le dictateur et le champignon'', when she helped Spirou and Fantasio send a secret message to the Count of Champignac, and later assisted Spirou with co-piloting an English Electric Canberra bomber plane to prevent General Zantas (a.k.a. Seccotine is a brand of refined liquid fish glue first made in Ireland. Origins Seccotine originated in Ireland and was first marketed and patented in 1894 by John Stevenson MA (1851-1931). The original manufacturer was the commercial printing company McCaw, Stevenson & Orr Limited of Belfast (founded 1876). In the early 1960s a new product, Seccotine No.2 PVA general-purpose adhesive, was introduced. ''Le dictateur et le champignon'', written and drawn by Franquin, is the seventh album of the ''Spirou et Fantasio'' series. After serial publication in '' Spirou'' magazine, the story was released as a hardcover album in 1956. Story When the Marsupilami causes chaos all over town, Spirou and Fantasio decide that it is time to take him back to his home in the Palombian jungles. ''Aventure en Australie'', written by Tome and drawn by Janry, is the thirty-fourth album of the ''Spirou et Fantasio'' series, and the second of the authors. The story was initially serialised in '' Spirou'' magazine, before released as a hardcover album in 1985. Story In ''Adventure in Australia'', the Count of Champignac, accompanied by a young professor, Walker Donahue, thinks he has made an extraordinary discovery in Australia, namely an immense indigenous monolith in the surroundings of a mining village. He asks Spirou and Fantasio to join them. Thus, the two go to the Australia, accompanied by Seccotine, which was essential. When they arrive, Donahue informs them that the Count was killed by miners. After investigation, they discover that the Count did not die but the heroes find him in bad shape, face to face with Sam, a gangster who grows rich by holding prospectors to ransom. ''Marsupilami'' is a comic book character and fictional animal species created by André Franquin. Its first appearance was in the 31 January 1952 issue of the Franco-Belgian comics magazine '' Spirou''. Since then it appeared regularly in the popular Belgian comics series ''Spirou & Fantasio'', as a pet of the main characters, until Franquin stopped working on the series; the character's final appearance in the series during Franquin's lifetime was in 1970.
