Sebastián Vázquez (golfer)
Sebastián Vázquez (born 7 November 1990) is a Mexican professional golfer who currently plays on the Web.com Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Amateur career Vázquez had a successful amateur career winning the Mexican Amateur in 2011 and 2012. He also represented Mexico at the 2012 Eisenhower Trophy as part of a team with Rodolfo Cazaubón and Carlos Ortiz. Vázquez won the individual prize helping the Mexican team to a second-place finish behind the United States. Professional career Vázquez turned professional in 2012 and immediately joined PGA Tour Latinoamérica, making his professional début at the Lexus Peru Open in November 2012. His first professional win came at the 2012 Puerto Rico Classic in just his second professional start on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Vázquez continued to play on PGA Tour Latinoamérica during the 2013 season but failed to win an event. 2012 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2012 Eisenhower Trophy took place 4–7 October on the PGA Sultan course at Antalya Golf Club and the Faldo course at Cornelia Golf Club in Antalya, Turkey. It was the 28th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 72 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team was due to play two rounds on the two courses. A weather delay on the second morning meant that the second round was not completed until the third day and the event was reduced to 54 holes. The leading 36 teams played their third round at Antalya Golf Club with the remaining teams playing at Cornelia Golf Club. United States won their 14th Eisenhower Trophy, four strokes ahead of Mexico, who took the silver medal. France, Germany and South Korea tied for third place and took bronze medals. José de Jesús Rodríguez Martínez (born 22 January 1981) is a Mexican professional golfer who currently plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. Rodríguez has previously played on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and the Tour de las Américas. Background Rodríguez grew up in poverty in Irapuato, Mexico. He was one of seven siblings who slept shoulder-to-shoulder on the dirt floor of their one-room, bathroom-less adobe home. At the age of 12, he dropped out of school and began caddying full-time at Club de Golf Santa Margarita. That club is where he learned to golf. At the age of 15, Rodríguez crossed into the United States illegally by crossing the Rio Grande river.
