Sebastián Porto
Sebastián Porto (born September 12, 1978 as Sebastián Porco) is an Argentine professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He currently races in the Brazilian Moto 1000 GP Championship aboard a BMW S1000RR. Career Early career Born in Rafaela, Santa Fe Province, Porto started his racing career at age 11, competing in the mini-motorcycle local circuit. His first international competition was the 125cc 1994 Argentine Grand Prix, and only two years later he won the 250cc European Championship. 250cc, (1995-2006) The bulk of his racing career was in the 250cc World Championship, starting in 1996 with Aprilia. 2014 Moto2 Series Season
The 2014 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 66th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Pol Espargaró was the reigning series champion, but did not contest the season as he joined the series' premier class, MotoGP. Scoring a record tally of points for the intermediate class, with 346, Marc VDS Racing Team rider Esteve Rabat wound up as the series champion, finishing 57 points clear of his teammate Mika Kallio. Rabat also set records for pole positions with 11, and tied the record for podiums with 14 – including 7 wins – matching Marc Márquez in the campaign. Kallio, a three-time winner, sealed the runner-up position in the championship after a collision with his closest challenger for the position, Maverick Viñales, in the final round of the season in Valencia. 1994 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 1994 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 46th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary 1994 was the year in which Honda's Mick Doohan began to stamp his authority on the Grand Prix world. Honda's Longtime sponsor Rothmans left Honda to join Williams Renault in Formula One. Doohan won 9 races, the most since Giacomo Agostini won 11 in 1972. Kevin Schwantz was injured in a pre-season bicycle crash and raced in 6 races with his arm in plaster. Luca Cadalora took over from Wayne Rainey on the Yamaha and won two races. Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).
