Sebastian Kolasiński
Sebastian Kolasiński (; born 16 February 1975) is a Polish former competitive ice dancer. With partner Sylwia Nowak, he is the 1998 Skate Canada International bronze medalist, 1999 Cup of Russia bronze medalist, 1994 World Junior champion, and a nine-time Polish national champion. Personal life Kolasiński was born on 16 February 1975 in Łódź, Poland. He has a daughter, Jagoda (born in 2002), with his ex-wife, Jagna Marczułajtis, an Olympic snowboarder. Career Early in his career, Kolasiński had a brief partnership with Agnieszka Domańska. In 1991, coaches paired him with Sylwia Nowak, with whom he competed for the rest of his career. They won silver at the 1993 World Junior Championships and then gold in 1994. Łódź, also rendered in English as Lodz, is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. It is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship, and is located approximately south-west of Warsaw. Original Dance
The original dance (OD) was one of the programs performed by figure skaters in ice dance competitions, in which the ice dancers skated "a dance of their own creation to dance music they have selected for the designated rhythm(s)".Rulebook, p. 90 It was normally the second of three programs in the competition, sandwiched between the compulsory dance (CD) and the free dance (FD). The rhythm(s) and type of music required for the OD changed every season, and were selected by the International Skating Union (ISU) before the start of the season. The ice dancers were free to choose their own music and choreography (within the specified constraints) and to create their own routines. They were judged on a set of required criteria, including skating skills and how well they interpreted the music and the rhythm. The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Nino Rota
Giovanni Rota Rinaldi (; 3 December 1911 – 10 April 1979), better known as Nino Rota (), was an Italian composer, pianist, conductor and academic who is best known for his film scores, notably for the films of Federico Fellini and Luchino Visconti. He also composed the music for two of Franco Zeffirelli's Shakespeare films, and for the first two films of Francis Ford Coppola's '' Godfather'' trilogy, earning the Academy Award for Best Original Score for ''The Godfather Part II'' (1974). The Godfather (soundtrack)
''The Godfather'' is the soundtrack from the film of the same name, released in 1972 by Paramount Records, and in 1991 on compact disc by MCA. Unless noted, the cues were composed by Nino Rota and conducted by Carlo Savina (who was credited on the LP, but not the CD). The song "I Have but One Heart" is sung by Al Martino, who performed it in the film as character Johnny Fontane. The score was nominated for an Academy Award; however, the Academy withdrew the nomination after determining that the "Love Theme" was a rewritten version of Nino Rota's music from the 1958 film '' Fortunella''. Background and recording Coppola hired Italian composer Nino Rota to create the underscore for the film, including the main theme, " Speak Softly, Love". John Kander
John Harold Kander (born March 18, 1927) is an American composer, known largely for his work in the musical theater. As part of the songwriting team Kander and Ebb (with lyricist Fred Ebb), Kander wrote the scores for 15 musicals, including ''Cabaret'' (1966) and ''Chicago'' (1975), both of which were later adapted into acclaimed films.
