Sebastian Ernst
Sebastian Ernst (born 11 October 1984 in Gelsenkirchen) is a German sprinter who specializes in the 200 metres. His personal best time is 20.36 seconds, achieved during the heats at the 2004 Summer Olympics. This ranks him third among German 200m sprinters, only behind Tobias Unger and Frank Emmelmann. Ernst has represented the sports team TV Wattenscheid 01 and Schalke 04 domestically. Biography As a junior, he finished sixth at the 2002 World Junior Championships. The following year he took the 200 m title at the 2003 European Athletics Junior Championships, as well as winning a silver medal in the relay. He made his senior international debut the following year at the 2004 IAAF World Indoor Championships, where he narrowly missed a spot in the 200 m finals. The German Athletics Championships (german: Deutsche Leichtathletik-Meisterschaften) are the national championships in athletics of Germany, organised annually by the Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband. The competition features track and field events. Separate championships are held for non-track events, including the German Cross Country Championships, German Marathon Championships and German Race Walking Championships. The championships for combined track and field events are also held separately. The following are the national records in athletics in Germany maintained by its national athletics federation, Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband (DLV). The lists do differ according to whether a German athlete started at the time of preparation of the relevant records for the Association of Germany (DLV) or the German Democratic Republic (DVfL). In 2006 the DLV extended its list of records with a preamble: "According to present evidence the following list includes some record holders suspected of having violated anti-doping rules during their sporting career. The 2010 European Athletics Championships were the 20th edition of the European Athletics Championships, organised under the supervision of the European Athletic Association.
