Seattle Latino Film Festival
SEATTLE LATINO FILM FESTIVAL (SLFF) is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. History SLFF was founded in 2009 by Cuban-born, Internationally known Poet and Film Industry Professional Jorge Enrique González Pacheco. SLFF has the goal to bring audiences and filmmakers together for an educational experience and to support the magic of filmmaking as a part of Hispanic culture globally. The festival discovers and presents independent films, documentaries and short films from Latin American countries, Spain and Portugal at the Northwest of the United States. SLFF is ranked at the Top 5 of the best Latin-American Film Festival in the United States. The SLFF is the only forum in the Pacific Northwest for genuine Spanish & Portuguese cinema. A 501(c) organization is a nonprofit organization in the Law of the United States#Federal law, federal law of the United States according to Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 501(c)) and is one of over 29 types of nonprofit organizations exempt from some Taxation in the United States, federal Income tax in the United States, income taxes. Jorge Enrique González Pacheco
Jorge Enrique González Pacheco is an international award-winning Cuban poet, film industry professional, and cultural entrepreneur. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Latin American Literature from University of Havana, Cuba, and a Master's Degree in Hispanic Literature from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Biography González Pacheco was born in Marianao, Havana, on September 9, 1969. His mother died when he was very young, and his relationship with his father was turbulent. González Pacheco moved to the United States in 2003, and since 2006 he has been living in Seattle. He published his first poem in ''Alaluz'', a literary magazine of the University of California, Riverside. He has published six books, including ''Under the light of my blood''. Fernando Rodríguez Trueba (born 18 January 1955), known as Fernando Trueba, is a Spanish book editor, screenwriter, film director and producer. Between 1974 and 1979, he worked as a film critic for Spain's leading daily newspaper '' El País''. In 1980, he founded the monthly film magazine ''Casablanca'', which he edited and directed during its first two years. Alison Murray is a Canadian director of films, documentaries and music videos. She is well-known for writing and directing '' Mouth to Mouth'' (2005) starring Elliot Page, and documentaries such as ''Carny'' (2008) and ''Train on the Brain'' (2000).
