Season (film)
''Season'' is a List of Malayalam films of 1989, 1989 Indian Malayalam cinema, Malayalam-language crime thriller film written and directed by Padmarajan. It stars Mohanlal and Gavin Packard. The story is set at Kovalam beach in Kerala and Poojappura Central Prison, Trivandrum.The score was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. ''Season'' is considered well ahead of its time and has a cult status on Malayalam cinema. Often cited as one of the finest crime thrillers in Malayalam, but failed attract enough audience during its theatrical run. Plot Jeevan (Mohanlal) is taken to central jail from court. It is the year 1988. In his own words, "My name is Jeevan. I feel so depressed to know that I can't see this dew morning and the street lamps for years; but little would benefit in regretting now". Padmarajan
P. Padmarajan (23 May 1945 – 23 January 1991) was an Indian film maker, screenwriter and author who was known for his works in Malayalam literature and Malayalam cinema. He was the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam cinema, along with Bharathan and K. G. George, in the 1980s. Padmarajan was known for his detailed screenwriting and expressive direction style and made some of the landmark motion pictures in Malayalam cinema. He won the Kerala Sahithya Academy Award in 1972 for his novel ''Nakshathrangale Kaval''. He made his directorial debut in 1979 with ''Peruvazhiyambalam'' which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. He won his second National Award in 1986 with ''Thinkalaazhcha Nalla Divasam''. Ashokan (actor)
Ashokan is an Indian actor known for his roles in Malayalam films. He made his film debut with ''Peruvazhiyambalam'' the film won the 1979 National film award for best feature film. He is best known for his roles in ''Yavanika'' (1982), ''Yuvajanotsavam'' (1986), ''Thoovanathumbikal'' (1987), ''Moonnam Pakkam'' (1988), ''In Harihar Nagar'' (1990), ''Amaram'' (1990) and ''2 Harihar Nagar'' (2009). Sreekumaran Thampi
Sreekumaran Thampi (born 16 March 1940) is an Indian lyricist, music director, director, producer, and screenwriter in Malayalam cinema. He also writes poetry and is a recipient of the Vallathol Award. In 2017, he was awarded the J. C. Daniel Award, Kerala government's highest honour for contributions to Malayalam cinema. Azeez (actor)
Azeez (27 November 1934 – 16 July 2003) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 100 films. He came into the movie industry as a villain, later he started doing character roles, such as police officer, jailer, and minister. He was a Deputy superintendent (D.Y.S.P) in Kerala Police. He was a member of K.P.A.C. (Kerala People's Arts Club), which was a prominent leftist drama troupe in Kerala, and thus he got famous as "K.P.A.C Azeez". Thilakan
Palappurathu Kesavan Surendranatha Thilakan (15 July 1935 – 24 September 2012) was an Indian film and stage actor who appeared in over 200 Malayalam films. Thilakan was known for his elaborate method acting, realistic and spontaneous appearances. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest Indian actors of all time.
