Seaside City Arena
SM Seaside Arena is a multipurpose indoor arena currently under construction in Cebu City, Philippines. The arena will have a 16,000-seating capacity and, once completed, will be the largest indoor arena in Cebu. First proposed in 2013, the arena is planned to be a venue for local and international concerts, sports events, international conventions, and being the venue of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and was one of the proposed venues for the failed Philippine bid for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. In January 2017, SM Prime Holdings reportedly canceled its plans to build the arena. However, plans for the arena resumed in late 2019, with the arena, instead of being within the SM Seaside complex, now placed in the South Coast City, an adjacent mixed-use development co-owned by SM Prime with Ayala Land Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) is a real estate firm based in the Philippines. It is a subsidiary of Ayal ...

The South Road Properties (SRP), also known as the South Reclamation Project, is a 300 hectare island-type reclamation area located off the coast of the southern district of Cebu City, near Barangays Mambaling, Inayawan, and Pasil. It spans from the shore of mainland Cebu to Kawit Point (formerly Kawit Island). It is connected from mainland Cebu by the Cebu South Coastal Road and the Mambaling Access Road (officially the F. Vestil Street). History In the late 1980s, then Cebu City mayor Tomas Osmeña proposed reclaiming the sea between mainland Cebu City and Kawit Island (a former quarantine facility during the American rule). In 1991, the project was approved as part of the Metro Cebu Development Project, a study financed by the Japanese Official Development Assistance fund. It was originally envisioned to house light industries but eventually evolved into a mixed-used development. The project started civil works in 1997, and was financed by a (equivalent to about in 2022) lo ...

Buildings And Structures In Cebu City
A building, or edifice, is an enclosed structure with a roof and walls standing more or less permanently in one place, such as a house or factory (although there's also portable buildings). Buildings come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and functions, and have been adapted throughout history for a wide number of factors, from building materials available, to weather conditions, land prices, ground conditions, specific uses, prestige, and aesthetic reasons. To better understand the term ''building'' compare the list of nonbuilding structures. Buildings serve several societal needs – primarily as shelter from weather, security, living space, privacy, to store belongings, and to comfortably live and work. A building as a shelter represents a physical division of the human habitat (a place of comfort and safety) and the ''outside'' (a place that at times may be harsh and harmful). Ever since the first cave paintings, buildings have also become objects or canvasses of much artistic ...

Basketball Venues In The Philippines
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins, but if regulation play expires with the score tied, an additional period of play (overtime) is mandated. Players advance the ball by bouncing it while walking or running (dribbling) or by passing it to a teammate, both of which require considerable skill. On offense, players may use a v ...

Mixed-use Development
Mixed-use is a kind of urban development, urban design, urban planning and/or a zoning type that blends multiple uses, such as residential, commercial, cultural, institutional, or entertainment, into one space, where those functions are to some degree physically and functionally integrated, and that provides pedestrian connections. Mixed-use development may be applied to a single building, a block or neighborhood, or in zoning policy across an entire city or other administrative unit. These projects may be completed by a private developer, (quasi-) governmental agency, or a combination thereof.
