''Search for a Star'' is a Philippine television singing talent show broadcast by GMA Network. Hosted by Regine Velasquez, it premiered on June 21, 2003. The show concluded on March 13, 2004 with a total of 39 episodes. It was replaced by ''StarStruck Kids'' in its timeslot. The grand finals happened in Ultra in Pasig on March 13, 2004. A talent show is an event in which participants perform the arts of singing, dancing, lip-syncing, acting, martial arts, playing an instrument, poetry, comedy or other activities to showcase skills. Many talent shows are performances rather than contests, but some are actual contests. Rachelle Ann Villalobos Go-Spies (born August 31, 1986) is a Filipina singer and actress. Several cameras—either film or professional video cameras—are employed on the set and simultaneously record or broadcast a scene.
