Search Committee, 2022 is a committee set up by President Mohammad Abdul Hamid on 5 February 2022, to select qualified persons for the post of Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners of the 13th Bangladesh Election Commission. Obaidul Hassan is the chairman of this committee with 6 members. Although two such committees have been formed in Bangladesh before, this is the first committee formed by law. One week before the formation of this committee, the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Appointment Act, 2022 was passed. The ruling Awami League welcomed this committee. Obaidul Hassan
Obaidul Hassan is a judge on the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Hassan was born on 11 January 1959 in Mohanganj Upazila, Netrokona District, East Pakistan, Pakistan. Hassan's father was Akhlakul Hossain Ahmed, a member of East Pakistan Provincial Assembly, and his mother was Begum Hosne Ara Hossain. His brother, Sajjadul Hassan, is the chairperson of Bangladesh Biman. Hassan completed his undergraduate and graduate degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka. He completed his law degree from the University of Dhaka. Career In 1986, Hassan started working as a lawyers in the District Court and the High Court in 1988. Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury
Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury is the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh. Early life Chowdhury was born in Chittagong. Sohrab Hossain (Officer)
Md Sohorab Hossain is a retired Bangladeshi Civil Servant and currently serving as the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission. He is a former Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education. Early life Hossain was born in 1961 in Chatkhil Upazila, Noakhali District, East Pakistan, Pakistan. Sohul Hussain
Muhammed Sohul Hussain is a former Election Commissioner of Bangladesh during the 2006–2008 Bangladeshi political crisis. In 2022, he was part of the search committee created to appoint new election commissioners. Career Hussain was the Secretary at the Ministry of Law.
