Seamus Ó Muíneacháin
Jimmy Monaghan (Irish: Seamus Ó Muíneacháin) is an Irish musician from Belmullet, Ireland. He has released music as a solo artist, and as a member of the anti-folk band Music for Dead Birds. Music In 2007, he formed Music for Dead Birds with drummer Dónal Walsh in Galway city. One of the band's first gigs was a live performance on Anocht FM from the Roisin Dubh in August 2007. Their debut album, '' And then it rained for seven days'', was released in 2009 by the Irish record label Rusted Rail. This was followed by the independently released '' The Pope's Sister'', a concept album about the influence of the Catholic church in Ireland, in 2011, ''Vitamins'' in 2014, and ''Pagan Blessings'' in 2018. ''Vitamins'' is the third studio album by Irish anti-folk band Music for Dead Birds. Background and release The album was recorded in one weekend at Data Studios, County Kerry, with recording engineer Tadgh Healy. The album was released on 17 April 2014 as both a Pay what you want digital download and a limited edition CD run of 100 copies. Lead track ''The Farmer's Corn'' was broadcast by RTÉ 2fm in Ireland and 2SER in Australia. A music video was produced for the track ''Magic Witch'' which received national media attention for its dark content. ''An Taobh Tuathail'' is an Irish language alternative music program broadcast on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. It has been produced and presented by Cian Ó Cíobháin since its inception in 1999. History Ó Cíobháin, originally from Country Kerry, started broadcasting ''An Taobh Tuathail'' from ''RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta'' headquarters in Casla in 1999. The name ''An Taobh Tuathail'' translates to English as 'The Other Side', and Ó Cíobháin, who had worked as a music journalist for the publication ''Fionse'', often used this term when describing B-sides. Electric Picnic is an annual arts-and-music festival which has been staged since 2004 at Stradbally Hall in Stradbally, County Laois, Ireland.
