Seamus Quaid
Seamus Quaid (16 November 1937 – 13 October 1980) was an Irish police officer of the Garda Síochána (Garda 13497), killed in the line of duty by the IRA. He was a native of County Limerick, and became a member of the Wexford hurling team in October 1958. In 1960, Quaid was a part of the County Wexford team that won the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. In January 1972, IRA member Peter Rogers escaped from HMS ''Maidstone'', a prison ship moored in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Fleeing south across the border into the Republic of Ireland, Rogers settled and married in County Wexford. Remaining an active IRA member, an incident occurred on 13 October 1980, where Rogers fired upon two policemen, Garda Quaid and Garda Lyttleton, while they were attempting to detain him. Lyttleton managed to escape but Quaid was wounded, and died within fifteen minutes. Feohanagh-Castlemahon GAA
Feohanagh-Castlemahon ( ga, An Fheothanach – Caisleán Uí Mhathúna) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Mahoonagh, County Limerick, Ireland. It was founded in 1890. Coolyroe is the main centre for the GAA field, known as Quaid Park. Hurling is the main sport in Feohanagh-Castlemahon (Fheothanach – Caisleán Uí Mhathúna). For hurling, Mahoonagh parish is represented by Feohanagh and Gaelic football is represented by Castlemahon. There are also handball courts in Coolyroe. Feohanagh/Castlemahon won the 2011 West Junior A Hurling Championship defeating Dromcollogher/Broadford in the final in Feenagh on 15 October 2011 on a scoreline of 2–10 to 0–08. Gerry Adams

Detective Garda Jerry McCabe (22 November 1943 – 7 June 1996) was a member of the Garda Síochána, the national police force of Ireland. McCabe was killed in Adare, County Limerick on 7 June 1996, by members of the Provisional IRA, during the attempted robbery of a post office van. Early life Detective Garda McCabe was born in Ballylongford, County Kerry on 22 November 1943. He was married to Anne, a daughter of a Garda. Deaths Of Henry Byrne And John Morley
Henry Byrne and John Morley, two officers of the Garda Síochána, the police force of Ireland, were murdered on 7 July 1980 by alleged members of the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA). The officers' deaths provoked national outrage. Three men were apprehended, convicted, and sentenced to death for capital murder. Two of the sentences were later reduced to 40 years imprisonment while the third was overturned. Bank robbery On 7 July 1980, three armed and masked men raided the Bank of Ireland in Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon. The group held staff and customers at gunpoint before leaving with IR£35,000. Richard Christopher Fallon (18 December 1926 – 3 April 1970) was an Irish police officer who received the Scott Medal. He was the first member of the Garda Síochána to be killed in the line of duty as a consequence of The Troubles Early life Fallon was a native of Moneen, Kilrooskey, in County Roscommon. The National Opera House, formerly the Wexford Opera House, is a theatre in Wexford, Ireland. It was officially opened on 5 September 2008 in a ceremony with An Taoiseach Brian Cowen, followed by a live broadcast of RTÉ's '' The Late Late Show'' from the O'Reilly Theatre. It was built on the site of the former Theatre Royal, Wexford, which was demolished to facilitate the development, the need for a new opera house was a result of the success of the Wexford Festival Opera and the provision of a theatre, concert and conference venue in Wexford.
