Seabound
Seabound is an electronic music duo from Germany. Their lyrics are in English and for the most part explore the human psyche and the way that everyday events can affect a person psychologically, hence the band's slogan: "Seabound: Journey into Your Mind." History Seabound began in 1995 when Frank Spinath and Martin Vorbrodt were introduced by a mutual friend. They were so different musically that they weren't certain as to whether or not a musical collaboration between them would work. Despite the uncertainty they decided to try an informal jam-oriented home project. They soon realized that with a more focused approach, they might be able to produce something quite special. They made the band official and decided to call themselves Seabound. They decided on the name because of Spinath's love of the ocean and the fact that Vorbrodt was born near the shore. Frank Spinath
Frank Michael Spinath (born 1969) is a German psychologist and musician. He is a professor of psychology at Saarland University, known for his research in the field of differential psychology. As a musician, he is known as the vocalist of the electronic duo Seabound and the German futurepop band Edge of Dawn. Education and academic career Born in Wipperfürth, Germany, Spinath earned his diploma, Ph.D., and habilitation degrees in psychology from the University of Bielefeld in 1995, 1999, and 2003, respectively. He became a full professor of psychology at Saarland University in 2004. Edge Of Dawn
Edge of Dawn is a German futurepop band consisting of Mario Schumacher and Frank M. Spinath (also a member of Seabound). Schumacher founded the band as a solo project in 1998. Spinath joined the project as vocalist in 2005. The duo's debut release, also in 2005, was the EP ''The Flight ux'. This was followed by two releases in 2007: the full-length ''Enjoy the Fall'', which achieved the number three position on the German Alternative Chart in June 2007 and the EP ''Borderline Black Heart''. Edge of Dawn's second studio album ''Anything That Gets You Through The Night'' was released May 21, 2010. In between releases, Edge of Dawn has contributed both original tracks and remixes to several Dependent compilations. The name "Edge of Dawn" is an homage to the Covenant song with the same name. Iris (American Band)
Iris was an American synthpop band, formed by Reagan Jones and Mat Morris in 1993. After the release of their first album '' Disconnect'', Matthew Morris was replaced with Andrew Sega, who pushed the band's sound in a more experimental electronic direction. Their final album, ''Six,'' was released in September 2019. Iris disbanded in 2021. Electronic body music (acronymized to EBM) is a genre of electronic music that combines elements of industrial music and synth-punk with elements of disco and dance music. It developed in the early 1980s in Western Europe as an outgrowth of both punk and industrial music cultures. Pride and Fall is a Norwegian futurepop act from Stavanger, Norway, formed in 2000 by Sigve Monsen, Per Waagen, and Svein Joar A. Johnsen. History The band came about when Sigve and Svein wanted to pursue a more electronic and club-oriented sound than what they were doing in their goth/dark wave project, An Evening with Kisses. As a result, they formed Pride and Fall together with Per Waagen in 2000–2001. Waagen had worked with Monsen in the 1990s in a doom metal band from Stavanger called Vidvandre. Vidvandre also featured Frank Claussen who later joined the successful Theatre of Tragedy. Visage (band)
Visage were a British synthpop band, formed in London in 1978. The band became closely linked to the burgeoning New Romantic fashion movement of the early 1980s, and are best known for their hit " Fade to Grey" which was released in late 1980.
