Sea Sew
''Sea Sew'' is the debut studio album released by Lisa Hannigan. It was released in Ireland on 12 September 2008, with the lead single, " Lille", made available as a free download on lisahannigan.ie on 25 August. ''Sea Sew'' was a critical success, earning rave reviews and being named by some music critics amongst the best Irish albums of the year. It garnered airtime on American radio station KCRW and earned early praise from press across the US, including the western '' Los Angeles Times'', which called it "charmingly idiosyncratic" and the eastern publication, '' The New York Times'', which described it as "exquisitely ethereal". Record Sleeve
A record sleeve is the outer covering of a vinyl record. Alternative terms are ''dust sleeve'', ''album liner'' and ''liner''. The term is also used to denominate the outermost cardboard covering of a record, i.e. the ''record jacket'' or ''album jacket''. The record jacket is extensively used to design and market a recording, as well as to additionally display general information on the record as artist name, titles list, title length etc. if no opening presents a readable label. The terms liner notes, ''sleeve notes'' are used to refer to this label, jacket information. Sleeves were originally printed on simple cardboard. Knitting
Knitting is a method by which yarn is manipulated to create a textile, or fabric. It is used to create many types of garments. Knitting may be done by hand or by machine. Knitting creates stitches: loops of yarn in a row, either flat or in ''the round'' (tubular). There are usually many ''active stitches'' on the knitting needle at one time. Knitted fabric consists of a number of consecutive rows of connected loops that intermesh with the next and previous rows. Catherine "Cathy" Davey (born 1979) is an Irish singer-songwriter. She has released one extended play, "Come Over" (2004), and four albums, '' Something Ilk'' (2004), ''Tales of Silversleeve'' (2007), '' The Nameless'' (2010) and ''New Forest'' (2016). Vyvienne Long
Vyvienne Long is a musician from Co. Dublin, Ireland. A classically trained cellist from the College of Music, Dublin and the Escola de Musica in Barcelona, she also sings and plays piano and writes music for her quintet which comprises 2 cellos, piano, double bass and drums. After touring for many years with Damien Rice, Long released an EP entitled ''Birdtalk'' in 2006. Her well-known cello heavy cover version of "Seven Nation Army" appeared on ''Even Better than the Real Thing, Vol 2'', a charity compilation of cover versions by Irish artists. In March 2009, she released a single from her album called "Happy Thoughts". The song, originally used for a cheese ad, asks a number of whimsical questions relating to the unusual habits of various wild animals. Tom Osander
Tom Osander aka Tomo (born John Thomas Osander Jr. on 6 October 1966) is an American percussionist and producer. Osander co-founded seminal New York City based Jam band God Street Wine. He is also associated with Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan, and Hanna Leess. Born in Princeton, New Jersey Osander was a member of the New York City jamband God Street Wine from 1988 to 1998, recording six albums and performing more than 1,000 shows, touring with bands such as The Allman Brothers, Bruce Hornsby and the Black Crowes. In 1999 Osander moved to Killarney, Ireland, to briefly join the alternative, Killarney-based rock band Poor Uncle Harry. He began working with Damien Rice in 2000 and over the next several years recorded both the albums " O" and " 9". Bert Jansch
Herbert Jansch (3 November 1943 – 5 October 2011) was a Scottish folk musician and founding member of the band Pentangle. He was born in Glasgow and came to prominence in London in the 1960s as an acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter. He recorded more than 28 albums and toured extensively from the 1960s to the 21st century. Jansch was a leading figure in the 1960s British folk revival, touring folk clubs and recording several solo albums, as well as collaborating with other musicians such as John Renbourn and Anne Briggs. In 1968, he co-founded the band Pentangle, touring and recording with them until their break-up in 1972. He then took a few years' break from music, returning in the late 1970s to work on a series of projects with other musicians.
