Scryptic Studios
Scryptic Studios (or simply, ''Scryptic'') is a website created by a group of comic book writers as a massive resource for comic book writers to network, research stories, read news and columns, and find script samples. The etymology of the title, Scryptic (pronounced skrip-tik), is the combination of the words ''SCRIPT'' (for writing) and ''CRYPTIC'' (for secret); so the title literally translates to: ''SECRET WRITING''. Scryptic was created in June 2004 by five writers, Jeffery Stevenson, Jim Keplinger (ShadowHawk, Genie), Kevin Melrose, Dan Taylor, and led by Ryan Scott Ottney (The Legend of Isis, Bikini Bandits). Other contributors to the site have included Drew Melbourne ( ArchEnemies), Neil Kleid, Brant Fowler, and many others. Comic Book
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. "Comic Cuts" was a British comic published from 1890 to 1953. It was preceded by "Ally Sloper's Half Holiday" (1884) which is notable for its use of sequential cartoons to unfold narrative. These British comics existed alongside of the popular lurid "Penny dreadfuls" (such as "Spring-heeled Jack"), boys' " Story papers" and the humorous Punch (magazine) which was the first to use the term "cartoon" in its modern sense of a humorous drawing. The Legend Of Isis
''Isis'' is an American comic book character based on the goddess of the same name from Ancient Egyptian religion. Originally published by Image Comics, she has since been moved to her creator Darren G. Davis's publication of Bluewater Productions. Originally published in February 2002 in a one-shot issue by Image Comics, Isis later appeared in '' The 10th Muse'' #10 and ''The Odyssey'' #1 - both by Tidal Wave Studios and Avatar Press. In 2005 Isis would return in her own ongoing, monthly series, ''The Legend of Isis'' at Alias Enterprises by creator Darren G. Davis and writer Ryan Scott Ottney, before the last move to Bluewater. Douglas Glenn Colvin (September 18, 1951 – June 5, 2002), better known by his stage name Dee Dee Ramone, was an American musician. He was the bassist and a founding member of the punk rock band Ramones. Throughout the band's existence, he was the most prolific lyricist and composer, writing many of their best-known songs, such as "53rd & 3rd", "Chinese Rock", "Commando", "Wart Hog", " Rockaway Beach", "Poison Heart" and " Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" (also known as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down"). ''ArchEnemies'' is a comic book mini-series put out by Dark Horse Comics from April 5, 2006 until July 5, 2006. The series was created and written by Drew Melbourne with art by Yvel Guichet and Joe Rubinstein. Plot The 4-part series focuses on the superhero Star Fighter and his archenemy Underlord, as well as roommates Ethan and Vincent. They just happen to be the same people, though neither Ethan (Star Fighter) nor Vincent (Underlord) are aware of that fact. Ethan and Vincent are each horrible roommates, though they are unable to give up their apartment in order to escape the other. Ethan's a slob who likes throwing parties simply to annoy Vincent. Movie Magic Screenwriter is a word processing program sold by Write Brothers to format screenplays, teleplays and novels. History Stephen Greenfield and Chris Huntley created Scriptor, one of the earliest screenplay writing programs, that worked by converting wordprcessor documents into screenplay style. The program's importance was highlighted by an Academy Award for technical achievement in 1994.
