Screwed Up
''Screwed Up'' is a compilation album by American hip hop quartet Screwball. The double disc project was released on July 19, 2004 via Hydra Entertainment. It is primarily composed of songs from the group's two previous albums '' Y2K: The Album'' and ''Loyalty'', as well as new tracks, remixes, and songs from member Hostyle's ''One Eyed Maniac'' album. The album's title came from the group's 1996 single "Screwed Up" b/w "They Wanna Know Why". After the release of ''Screwed Up'', member Blaq Poet pursued a solo career. Member Kenneth "KL" Lewis died on March 28, 2008 of an asthma attack, and member Fredrick "Hostyle" Ivey died in January 2020. The compilation was re-issued for digital download shortened to fifteen tracks. Screwball (group)
Screwball is an American underground hip hop quartet from New York City, composed of rappers Hostyle, KL, Blaq Poet and Solo. The group has released two studio albums, '' Y2K: The Album'' in 1999 and '' Loyalty'' in 2001, and a compilation album ''Screwed Up'' in 2004. Their debut Tommy Boy Records-released album ''Y2K'' was a minor success, reaching number 50 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It featured contributions from Godfather Don, Big Noyd, Capone, Cormega, MC Shan, Mobb Deep, Nature, Pete Rock and Marley Marl among others, and yielded two charted singles: Mike Heron-produced "H-O-S-T-Y-L-E" and DJ Premier-produced "F.A.Y.B.A.N. (Fuck All You Bitch Ass Niggas)". XXL (magazine)
''XXL'' is an American hip hop magazine, published by Townsquare Media, founded in 1997. History In August 1997, Harris Publications released the first issue of ''XXL''. It featured rappers Jay-Z and Master P on a double cover. In December 2006, ''XXL'' took over the struggling hip-hop producer and DJ magazine '' Scratch'' (another publication owned by Harris Publications), re-branding it as ''XXL Presents Scratch Magazine''. However ''Scratch'' shut down less than a year later in September 2007. Adrian Bartos (born September 29, 1969) known professionally as DJ Stretch Armstrong is a New York-based DJ and music producer, known as a former co-host of hip hop radio show ''The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show'', alongside Bobbito Garcia. Early life Bartos grew up in the Upper East Side of New York City. He was obsessed with boomboxes as a child and had an older sister who was into early disco music in the seventies, bringing records home to listen to. Mobb Deep
Mobb Deep was an American hip hop duo from New York City. The duo consisted of rappers Prodigy and Havoc. They are considered to be among the principal progenitors of hardcore East Coast hip hopEdwards, Paul, 2009, ''How to Rap: The Art & Science of the Hip-Hop MC'', Chicago Review Press, p. 323. and hip hop in the mid-1990s. Mobb Deep became one of the most successful rap duos of all time, having sold over three million records. Shawn Moltke (born September 6, 1965) better known by his stage name MC Shan, is an American hip hop and R&B recording artist. He is best known for his song "The Bridge" produced by Marley Marl, and for collaborating with Snow on "Informer", the international number-one hit single.
