Scrawl (film)
''Scrawl'' is a 2015 independent British supernatural horror- thriller film written and directed by Peter Hearn, and produced by Annabelle Le Gresley and Hearn. It stars Liam Hughes, Joe Daly, Daisy Ridley, Mark Forester Evans, Le Gresley, Nathalie Pownall, Catherine Ruddick, Ellie Selwood and Derek Jones. It tells the story of two best friends, Simon and Joe, who must rewrite the happenings from the comic book, Scrawl, after realising that the events occurred from the comic are beginning to happen. It is also Ridley's film debut, being shot just before '' Star Wars: The Force Awakens''. It was released digitally on 11 June 2019 to negative reviews. ''Home Movies'' is a 1979 independent film directed by Brian De Palma and starring Kirk Douglas, Nancy Allen, Vincent Gardenia, Keith Gordon, Theresa Saldana, and Gerrit Graham. De Palma had been teaching film at his alma mater Sarah Lawrence College, and conceived this project as a hands-on training exercise for his students. They were given the primary responsibilities of raising money, arranging the shooting schedule, and editing the film, all under De Palma's supervision. Phil Tucker (May 22, 1927 – November 30, 1985) was an American film director, producer, writer, and editor. While Tucker directed his first six feature films in the span of two years (while still in his mid-20s), he is best known for his first film, the science fiction B movie ''Robot Monster'', often considered an example of "so bad it's good" film-making in the Ed Wood vein, and for the Lenny Bruce movie ''Dance Hall Racket'' featuring Bruce's wife Honey Harlow. In 1952, he was reportedly offered $300,000 to make a sympathetic biopic about Lucky Luciano. In December 1953, he attempted suicide in response to the poor reception of ''Robot Monster'' and his subsequent inability to find work.
