Claire Scovell LaZebnik
Claire Scovell LaZebnik is an American novelist/author. She is the wife of American television writer Rob LaZebnik, with whom she has four children. She is also the sister of television writer Nell Scovell and of children's book writer Alice Scovell Coleman. She was raised in Newton, Mass and attended Newton South High School. She graduated from Harvard University in 1985. Her novels include '' Same as It Never Was'', '' Knitting Under the Influence'', and ''The Smart One and the Pretty One''. She has co-written two books on autism with Dr. Lynn Koegel of the Koegel Autism Research Center at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Eduardo Lefebvre Scovell
Eduardo Lefebvre Scovell (1864–1918) was a British artist. He is one of the Volcano School, a group of non-native artists who painted dramatic nocturnal scenes of Hawaii's erupting volcanoes. Following his education at Eton College and the University of Cambridge, Scovell studied art in Paris. He then traveled extensively, including one year in Rome and Florence. Several years were spent in India, China and Japan. He visited Brazil and spent eight years in Hawaii where he specialized in volcano scenes. He was in San Francisco during the earthquake and fire of 1906 and then settled in Los Angeles. Scovell was a resident there until his death on 23 September 1918. George Scovell
General Sir George Scovell, (21 March 1774 – 17 January 1861) was a member of the quartermaster's staff of the British Army in Iberia during the Peninsular War. Military career Scovell's parents were George Scovell of Cirencester and the daughter of John Fielding. He was commissioned as cornet and adjutant in the 4th Queen's Own Dragoons in 1798. He served as Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General at the 1809 Battle of Corunna. For his service in the Peninsular War, he received the gold cross with one clasp and the silver war medal with eight claps. Scovell is most remembered for the crucial role he played in breaking the codes of the French forces during that war, their '' Grande Chiffre''. A gifted linguist, he was put in charge of a motley crew of various nationalities recruited for their local knowledge and language skills and called the Army Guides. Melville Amasa Scovell
Melville Amasa Scovell (February 26, 1855 – August 15, 1912) was an American academic from New Jersey. Moving with his family to Champaign, Illinois early in his life, he attended the University of Illinois there, graduating in 1875. He worked at the school for the next seven years, until he was dismissed over a conduct violation. In 1885, he became director of the Kentucky Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of Kentucky. Scovell was named dean of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment there shortly before his death. Early years Melville Amasa Scovell was born February 26, 1855, in Belvidere, New Jersey. Helen Vivian "Nell" Scovell is an American television and magazine writer, and producer. She is the creator of the television series '' Sabrina the Teenage Witch'', which aired on ABC and The WB from 1996 until 2003 and co-author of the book '' Lean In''.
