Scott Y. Thomson
Scott Yuill Thomson (born 8 November 1966 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish former professional football goalkeeper, who played mainly for Raith Rovers and won the 1994 Scottish League Cup Final when the Stark's Park club defeated Celtic at Ibrox Park. Since retiring as a player, he has worked as a goalkeeping coach. Playing career Thomson started his professional career at Dundee United. He made his first team debut on 2 May 1987 in a 2–1 victory at Tannadice against Hibernian, but went on to play just five other first team games for the club before being loaned out to Barnsley. He signed for Forfar Athletic in 1991 before joining Raith Rovers in 1993. During his time at Stark's Park, Thomson played in over 100 first team games, winning the Scottish Football League First Division and Scottish League Cup. Ibrox Park
Ibrox Stadium is a football stadium on the south side of the River Clyde in the Ibrox area of Glasgow, Scotland. The home of Rangers Football Club, Ibrox is the third largest football stadium in Scotland, with an all-seated capacity of . Opened as Ibrox Park in 1899, it suffered a disaster in 1902 when a wooden terrace collapsed. Vast earthen terraces were built in its place, and a main stand, now a listed building, in 1928. A British record crowd of 118,567 gathered in January 1939 for a league match with Celtic. After the Ibrox disaster of 1971, the stadium was largely rebuilt. The ''Sunday Herald'' was a Scottish Sunday newspaper, published between 7 February 1999 and 2 September 2018. Originally a broadsheet, it was published in compact format from 20 November 2005. Brian Potter (footballer)
Brian Potter (born 26 January 1977) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently employed as the goalkeeping coach at Hamilton Academical. Career Potter began his career with Raith Rovers, and was the substitute goalkeeper when Scott Thomson was sent off in the 1994–95 Scottish League Cup semi-final. Despite being a YTS player with only one previous first team appearance, Potter played the remainder of the match, conceding once but surviving to a penalty shoot-out. Paul McStay
Paul Michael Lyons McStay, , nicknamed The Maestro, (born 22 October 1964) is a Scottish former professional footballer who spent his entire career with Celtic, making his senior debut in 1982 and retiring in 1997. He captained both Scotland and Celtic at all age levels. He was capped 76 times for his country and scored nine goals. He helped Celtic win three league titles, the last in 1988. A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. The Scottish League Cup (also known as the Viaplay Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a football competition open to all Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) clubs. First held in 1946–47, it is the oldest national League Cup in existence. The competition had a straight knockout format but became a group and knockout competition from 2016–17.
